Historia
Crucifixion, the Romans believed, was the worst fate imaginable, a punishment reserved for slaves. How astonishing it was, then, that people should have come to believe that one particular victim of crucifixion - an obscure provincial by the name of Jesus - was to be worshipped as a god. Dominion explores the implications of this shocking conviction as they have reverberated throughout history.

An establishment view of world history
Revisado: 04-22-24
One should always be suspicious of histories written with British accents.. I want you to always be suspicious of those British accented historians in the sign accuracy of academia. The highlights of this book are the authors. Retelling of the stories of Saint Martin and saint Elizabeth of Hungary. The book.
Declines rapidly after 15:17. When Martin Luther mailed his 95 feces on the church door.. After that, the author doesn't cover the Catholic Church at all. And then just goes on to explain the way the legitimacy of the current international order. The book does at 1 time, praise the Chartist movement for saying that a common street person had more knowledge than a professor or a episcopalian or anglican priest. And yet he Is oblivious to see the is a vote and is exploration of the modern er. He declines to see the avid promotion of the destruction of Christendom through his country's Imperial admissions and declines to see the growth of the anti Christ in the modern era.. But hey diversity is our strength

Historia
As an international war correspondent and radio commentator, William L. Shirer didn't just research the fall of France. He was there. In just six weeks, he watched the Third Reich topple one of the world's oldest military powers - and institute a rule of terror and paranoia. Based on in-person conversation with the leaders, diplomats, generals, and ordinary citizens who both shaped the events of this time and lived through them on a daily basis, Shirer shapes a compelling account of historical events - without losing sight of the personal experience.

If you want to understand the world before the war, read this book. I had the audiobook. It os the second book I listened to from this author. It isn't perfect or unbiased and not without its limitations, but if read against the books of Taylor, Sutton and Buchanan, it gives you a nice insight in this avoidable war. The author blames Hitler for everything and Wall Street for nothing? who paid Hitler?

very selective about what he reports
Revisado: 01-15-23
I love this his research and his interviews are very thorough. find his reporting very want ing necessary details. it just seems so in love with his ideology that it gets in the way of the truth. in Johnson was a lot of things and what Carol does is he does identify what he was good at really good at the crooked bargain. it gets fair to say that he was one-on-one the best salesman who was and never will be. probably would have made a better legislator than a president. the guy was as corrupt as he comes. he was a seven figure businessman and a job that didn't pay more than four or five. he had a hand according to Roger Stone and at least 9 to 10 murders. he's a consonant womanizer. now that might not be a big deal to many, but if you're married and you love your wife kind of is a big deal. you want to be around a guy who's constantly cheating on his wife. I don't think such people should have positions of authority I don't care what their skill sets are. really makes you a question legitimate see you if democracy is as far as good government goes. that it can promote men like Lyndon baines Johnson and ignore millions of others now not exactly ameritocracy and I guess I ought to think Robert Carroll for bringing that out

This is my final Podcast, and the shortest one — just my last thoughts after decades of study. The Hiss-Chambers Case will live on because it is important post-WWII American history, and also a great yarn, a feast for trial lawyers, and an example of the endless fight between totalitarianism and freedom, between shiny lies and messy reality. I hope it fascinated and educated you as much as it has me. Thank you for your interest in my words.

Historia
During the first three decades of the 20th century, eugenics, the scientific control of human breeding, was a popular cause within enlightened and progressive segments of the English-speaking world. This prophetic volume counters the intellectual nihilism of Nietzsche, while simultaneously rebuking Western notions of progress - biological or otherwise. Chesterton expands his criticism of eugenics into what he calls "a more general criticism of the modern craze for scientific officialism and strict social organization."

one of my favorite professors in school referenced this author. and every time that I've spent time with him in audio books listening to him I've always come away better. I think that religious people, Christian people should be interested in the affairs the world because the world is the Dominion of Our Lord. and for many of us Chesterton is one medium by which to grasp the power that is the lord. Chesterton give us the tools the mindset though the philosophy I wish to govern the strange and unruly land make it a kingdom of Truth. you would be wised spend time with him he helps us get closer to the one that matters

Historia
Why did the US intelligence services fail so spectacularly to know about the Soviet Union's nuclear capabilities following World War II? As Vince Houghton, historian and curator of the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC, shows us, that disastrous failure came just a few years after the Manhattan Project's intelligence team had penetrated the Third Reich and knew every detail of the Nazi's plan for an atomic bomb. What changed and what went wrong?

a palace history that excuses espionage
Revisado: 11-03-22
this Palace history excuses many American intelligence failures. it overestimates Soviet science and dismisses casually the penetration of the Rosenberg ring and the possibility of espionage as to the success of the Soviet nuclear bomb. it does illustrate how the German atomic bomb program was behind the United States but it doesn't depend on German source documents but instead relies specifically on American sources. it is an interesting source story which must be viewed with some skepticism
