Pretty good
Revisado: 08-01-24
It was pretty good some parts cringy as they are talking about 8 year old children but you stick through it hoping there is some time skip… there isn’t, so the narrator had to pends lots of time with kids voices which he did his best at it’s just difficult. But overall it leaves it in a good place to go on to the second story and hopefully he is older and soon can hear the narrators use more normal voices

Honestly the consistency is awesome
Revisado: 07-08-24
I love how consistently good all the books in this series have been, I like that there isn’t constant tension about being the strongest or needing to save the world or anything like that there is down time to hear funny things happen and I do LOVE the recall about a crazy sculpture artist that i totally forgot about and when remembered had a good laugh!

I still don’t know how I feel about it
Revisado: 04-28-24
I don’t mind the voice actor but at times I swear he is talking while with a cold as it sounds nasally at times, the idea is cool just something is missing for me, and honestly was taken out of the story with the Bunny too stupid,/ gave it another listen and it’s not too bad I still think the bunny part is stupid AF, but I’ll give the second book a shot and see

Historia
Savannah was unlike any city Derek had ever been to. For the first time since his arrival in Cydaria, Derek actually met a respectable city lord. Natalie Savannah and the city she ruled were much more than he’d imagined. With this combination, Derek made the decision to put down roots by building a shop from scratch and moving his people in. He was even able to get Silvi the beloved kitchen that she so desired, along with personally meeting Alanah Swan and learning new things about the new system he was thrown into—things that only someone who was truly strong would know.

Revisado: 03-26-24
This one has been great good pace nice to hear a bit of how Derek and co are doing, at first I was a bit harsh on the performance but the story was good enough for me to bare with it, but even that has gotten better.

Historia
House Gracefall wasn’t anything like what Derek had imagined it would be. Instead of rage and anger at the loss of one of their young masters, House Gracefall showed humility and even apologized. Despite one noble house exemplifying honor and nobility, another awaited to reinforce the negative stereotypes that Derek had been anticipating all along. Somehow, out of all that, Derek made a new friend, a new business partner, and learned some secrets, while Silvi got her first taste of the real world of cooking and loved it.

Revisado: 03-23-24
I have enjoyed this series so far, story is fun fights are cool MC is good as well. Only weak thing is the female voices but I understand it’s a difficult skill and you do hear improvements since the first book so that’s good. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the books

Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. None of this mattered much to Derek, aside from making living a little more perilous.

Better than I thought
Revisado: 03-16-24
I was surprised I liked it as much as I did, I do enjoy OP MCs but I can’t deal with overly righteous, so having an MC that’s a cynic but strong as hell is cool. Unfortunately the performance of the book wasn’t great, not varied in many voices or they sounded the same but I understand it’s difficult to work on

Historia
This is the story about how I died. Not really.... I mean, I don't remember most of it, thank goodness. Long story short, I was betrayed. Some people I thought I could trust invaded my sky palace, stole my women, and enslaved my pet shadow hounds. I was destroyed, utterly. Or so they thought. Somehow, mana, the source of my previous power, brought me back. The backstabbing weasels think they are safe, barricaded in their strongholds. Here's the horrible part. They willingly sacrificed their own flesh and blood for security. And they had the nerve to call me evil?

Narrator is killing it.
So the premise isn’t terrible but the MC, as I do kinda like him as he isn’t as much of a whiny overly heroic guy is a bit of a hypocrite, dude had like 14 concubines, killed and did wicked things to get power….. but is bothered by royals that turn a blind eye to Brothels, Gambling Dens, and loan shark banks… GTFO with that nonsense.
Oh and the Sex scenes need to be shorter they are mad cringy feels kinda unnecessary to give that much detail… I mean I’m glad the MC isn’t acting like a shy little kid but guy needs to chill with the creep stares as well.
It’s still bearable, though,

It’s basically a Romance novel
Revisado: 08-05-23
Like it says in the title, it’s basically a Romance novel with magic and Dragons. If that sounds like your thing then it will be an easy 5stars for you, Neil’s performance is the best thing about the story as I just don’t care for romance in my novels or it being such a strong centerpiece if it had less romance I could get a bit more behind it but it’s awfully cringe for me to listen too. It’s a cool basis but it lost me with the cringy love dialogue. But if you are into Fantasy Romance I believe you will Absolutely love this.
TLDR: it is basically a Dungeons & Dragons romance story

MC isn’t an idiot but nieve at times, you can tell the author and many others show this when faced with racism, and how “shocked” they all seem to be when faced with racist moments or actions…. Like it doesn’t exist here as well, maybe they (authors and by that point the MCs they create) never dealt with it but racism exist here, so did slavery so to be shocked or in disbelief at it happening shows how closed off you are to the world, in some 3rd world countries they have work contracts that border on slavery in all but name. I say this as it’s a pet peeve when MCs get all preachy acting like “in their world it never existed” I’m not saying no MC should be ok with it, but acknowledge it as somethings humans are capable of (none humans too lol) I get tired of those monologues we all can agree slavery and Racism is bad, but please don’t dwell on it, as some of us that do experience racism in the place they live it gets annoying seeing these MCs being in such uproar to things some of us have to deal with day to day. Sorry but if a rant other than that it’s pretty decent story so far.
Performance is fantastic imo, slight issue of some girls voices sounding similar but it’s difficult to ask better from such a great range of voices needing to be covers.

Has potential but less self righteousness please
Revisado: 07-18-23
I really like the concept of this story, and the potential on how wide the story can go, and the narrator did great, some parts I feel like he did too much, but it’s understandable it’s his style of reading.
What I didn’t care for was the MC, he isn’t terrible he isn’t a complete dumbass, but makes a couple of decisions I can’t grasp like skill choices at times, and his self righteousness makes it mad cringy if you could tone that down by a lot it would be more bearable, he comes off as kinda virtue signaling at times but just mostly cringy.
Like I said it’s not bad but too much about “Serving my Justice”, without any real substance to it. He feels like one of those Empty shell of Anime character that needs to do his version of good regardless if there is much thought in it. And I very much dislike those characters. If story had a much more complex MC with a balance like most real people do I could get behind him but as now just Meh… when I think of MC
