kept my interest
Revisado: 10-06-24
This was my 4th book by this author. overall, I think she does good with suspense. I like how she gets straight to the point. She don't waste your time with fluff.
Now the bad; narrator. specifically, the female. She paused in weird places and didn't annunciate to capture the emotions of the women characters.

Historia
Shy, bookish, and admittedly awkward, Lily Greene has always felt inadequate compared to the rest of her accomplished family, who strive for Black excellence. She dreams of becoming a children’s books editor, but she’s been frustratingly stuck in the nonfiction division for years without a promotion in sight. Lily finds escapism in her correspondences with her favorite fantasy author, and what begins as two lonely people connecting over email turns into a tentative friendship and possibly something else Lily won’t let herself entertain—until he ghosts her without a word.

I've read the 1st two books about the Greene sisters and I'm done. They just don't move me.
I found Lily to be immature and Nick needed counseling, not a relationship.
Also, narration lacked life. It was so dull and lackluster.

Historia
Asha's life is no fairytale, by any stretch of the imagination. There was no kind, generous father to care for and protect her from the Vegas that exists beyond the glitz and glamour of The Strip. No wise, doting mother to look over and guide her, passing down essential lessons and leading her to the right path. And certainly, no Prince Charming just around the corner, ready to rescue her from working late nights to cover steadily mounting bills.

Not one likeable character. I just want the trope of smart, fine, young blk women with a hard up bringing to just die.

Meh
Revisado: 08-11-24
It just didn't work for me. The dialog was elementary, Britta was annoying and Wes was a little corny.
Their connect felt forced. Wes came across as lonely and Britta gave him something to do.
He was also clueless when it come to his ex.
This book is about being happy in your skin but the truth is, Britta wasn't but convinced herself that she was because she lacked discipline.

Historia
I ran from home to escape heartbreak, only to deliver myself into the hands of a wolf. Henry Wolf, that is. Heir to a luxury hotel chain, infamous playboy, arrogant bastard...and my new boss. Why he wants me, Abbi Mitchell - a girl who lacks experience on every front that would matter to him - as his personal assistant, I cannot fathom, especially when I keep messing up in the most spectacular way. Did I already mention he's a bastard? A beautiful, moody one, who's quick to demand, slow to apologize. And toying with me every chance he gets.

I'm not sure if I'm sold...
Revisado: 07-06-24
Trope that bothers me is "naive" girl who knows nothing, never seen nothing and don't think much about self.
*spoiler*
21 yr old virgin in college and has never seen a pen*s or condom? really
The naive inexperienced girl who looks in the mirror and doubts her own looks? really
But is desired by the rich and powerful.
It's so over used in romance novels.
Abby is a 21 yr college student nursing heartache when her boyfriend cheats on her.
She applies to work at a Wolf hotel in Alaska in landscaping but ends up with the position of personal assistant to the billionaire owner.
I like the MMC Henry Wolf. I liked that he at times, he was unreadable. It added to his sexiness.
The MFC Abby was a young babbling mess. At times, I sped up the book just to get through her rambling. And don't get me started on her mother (opinionated parents is an instant mute for me).
I am curious to know more about Henry but don't know how much of Abby I can take. Hopefully she "grows up" in the next book.

Divorce attorney RJ would never describe herself as romantic. But when she ends up officiating an unplanned wedding for a newly engaged couple in a park, her life is turned upside down. The video of the ceremony goes viral, and she finds herself in the unlikely position of being a sought-after local wedding officiant. Spending her free time overseeing “I dos” isn’t her most strategic career move, but she enjoys it, except for the type A dude-bro wedding planner she’s forced to work with.

Not her best
Revisado: 07-03-24
I really enjoyed How to Fail At Flirting by Denise Williams so it pains me to say this was a bore.
RJ was so unlikable. She was rude, defensive and confused. She was the one who needed counseling.
I'm honestly unsure what Lear saw in her. Maybe it was just physical. She was a walking brick wall.

Revisado: 05-16-24
1st book by Mr. Donlea. This was gripping story of two girls who had gone missing and who one escaped trying to come to terms with what happened to her.
I found his writing to be detailed but not over the top. I usually stay away from books with young adult banter but this one definitely passed the test. I will be adding this author to my list.

Nothing ground breaking when it comes to relationship advice for those who are in touch with reality and serious about relationships and making them work.
I usually like when the author read their own books but, I found Judge Faith to be boring. Her own story of love was very "fairytale". I would say use your credit on something else and rent this book from the library.

a corny Lifetime movie series
Revisado: 08-21-22
Let's start with the narrative. It didn't sound like the words of a big strong cop. it sound more like a love sick woman in a marriage with a spouse she no longer loved.
The stories overall were predictable. They stayed at the hospital excessively and everything made his blood run cold. Sorry to say, I did not enjoy.

Not my fav
Revisado: 08-19-22
The twist and turns were great to keep a listener interested but it was so drawn out. The dry dialog with the psychologists were a buzz kill.
Narration was confusing at times being that Bailey 's dry tone was made to sound like a man.
I don't know about this one. Definitely not going on my must listen (or read) list.
