Like You and Me
Revisado: 11-13-24
I’m a huge fan of this series and Gabrielle Meyer. In the beginning of Across the Ages, the characters disappointed me. I kept looking for the one to root for . None had the heroic values I longed to hear. Then I stopped, mouth dropped…of course none are worthy… none perfect … like you and me… they are not perfectly loved. As each story unfolded, God’s redemption followed. Near the end I just had to stand there and chuckle. Great twist and excellent plot.
Excellent Historical fiction.

Revisado: 06-07-24
Historical Fiction with a perfect slice of romance, I especially appreciate Amy Lynn Green’s humor and a title that encompasses so many place to where these great characters grow. Each member of the tour grew in faith and the reader has the same opportunity. Delightful humor, historical tidbits and characters easy to care about.

Romance the way God created it—His Love for us, our mate, children of our heart.
Historical Fiction at its Best - I am blown away by the research, spiritual insight, and God-touches in this book. Tessa Afshar is truly one of God’s scribes.
Readers of historical fiction will love the story of the three young people who grow into a Prince, a teacher, and a scribe. The writing and plot of how it could have happened will make you look beyond to the God who guides them.

DiAnn Mills weaves a fine web of intrigue with words that paint detailed scenes, engaging characters, and families of faith. Concrete evidence presents a solid plot and a beliable murder mystery. In this book the faith message for me speaks of broken families trusting God in difficult times.

Excellent for Readers and Writers
Revisado: 07-18-22
I’m a Sarah Eden fan and, this episode made me want to read all 4 authors. However I listened to this podcast because I’m praying about changing a stand alone novel into a series. I hoped for tips on starting a series as well as ending a series. This short session paid off. Now if I just had a template for that writer’s spreadsheet. Members of my family make spreadsheets for Thanksgiving dinner. I struggle with tables inserted in a Word doc file.

Nuggets of Truth and Knowledge
Revisado: 04-15-21
In the first few pages, this books seems to be a typical, shallow Regency Romance. However in Siri Mitchell’s books, I’ve learned to wait for the nugget of historical truth, followed by God’s intervention in the lives of Siri Mitchell’s characters. Then I’m reminded to wait for God’s truths to be revealed in my day to day life. It grows my faith every time.
Mitchell takes the well-known historical facts and uncovers the traps satan sets in every generation. In the middle of her story of social changes the reader is swept up in the lives of unforgettable characters.
