Historia
The War on Warriors uncovers the deep roots of our dysfunction—a society that has forgotten the men who take risks, cut through red tape, and get their hands dirty. The only kind of men prepared to face the dangers that the Left pretends don’t exist. Unlike issues of education or taxes or crime, this problem doesn’t have a zip code solution. We can’t move away from it. We can’t avoid it. We have only one Pentagon. Either we take it back or surrender it altogether.

Surprisingly Excellent Read
Revisado: 12-12-24
I admit I was skeptical at first given only superficial knowledge of Hegseth’s background, but this book was both easy to read and incredibly effective. It is like hearing from a sharp and straightforward NCO explaining the stark situation yet simple solution that’s staring you in the face.

Good Read for Leaders
Revisado: 11-13-24
Memorable anecdotes and lessons in leadership. Great attempt by the author to highlight commonalities between successful teams. However, some conclusions felt forced or disconnected from situations described - the J&J chapter comes to mind. This may have been due to adjusting for readability, and the book is very readable.

Well-written story, especially well-written and quirky though believable characters that you really get to know as you read. However, some parts felt overly long, with questionable significance to the plot.

A Strange One
Revisado: 09-05-24
Honestly, the book left me questioning how this could have become a classic work of sci-fi. Main character is difficult to sympathize with, and the ‘science’ of the book, while imaginative, feels inconsistent. Was entertaining enough to pass the time, but didn’t land among the stars for me.

China is killing Americans and working aggressively to maximize the carnage while our leaders remain passive and, in some cases, compliant. Why? If anyone could crack the code, it’s the renowned nonpartisan investigator Peter Schweizer. Schweizer’s previous three number one New York Times bestsellers sent shock waves through official Washington, sparking FBI investigations and congressional probes that continue to this day.

Historia
Many Americans are finally waking up to the alarming reality of China's stealth war on the United States and puzzling over how to push back against its insidious infiltration. What few realize is that we have one real advantage in this war: the Chinese Communist Party strategy for total war has been written out in Unrestricted Warfare, the Chinese book, well known there, that has become their new Art of War. In War Without Rules, retired Air Force Brigadier General Rob Spalding takes Americans inside Unrestricted Warfare.

This is a study of how intellectuals as a class affect modern societies by shaping the climate of opinion in which official policies develop, on issues ranging from economics to law to war and peace. You will hear a withering and clear-eyed critique about (but not for) intellectuals that explores their impact on public opinion, policy, and society at large.

Reading this in 2024 almost 15 years after its publication makes Sowell appear as a prophet foretelling not only of that to which the world has recently borne witness but also of what is soon to come. Also valuable read for caution and wisdom towards exalting the intelligentsia.

Uniquely Great Read, but…
Revisado: 03-10-24
Excellent world building, imagining near future scenarios, and writing. Marrs combines skillful application of science fiction and thriller elements into an engrossing story. However, my only criticism is that the measured build up seemed to be concluded rather hastily. Otherwise, still highly recommended.
