Historia
Leslie Marmon Silko's sublime Ceremony is almost universally considered one of the finest novels ever written by an American Indian. It is the poetic, dreamlike tale of Tayo, a mixed-blood Laguna Pueblo and veteran of World War II. Tormented by shell shock and haunted by memories of his cousin who died in the war, Tayo struggles on his impoverished reservation. After turning to alcohol to ease his pain, he strives for a better understanding of who he is.

what the?
Revisado: 05-10-21
ok. I will say the narrator was really good. He made the ideas and everything of this book come a live a lot better, the dialogue and characters really clear, etc... having a lot of the things you want in a narrator.
on the other hand, the book was just weird. now I k ow it's supposedly some great piece of literature, but it was super hard to follow, and nothing made sense. It was so non linear and all over the place that there really wasn't a story line, just kind of a weird unpallored existance. he's sad, something sad happened to his past in world war two, his uncle died, he got a ceremony, got hinted down for being insane but he understood the ceremony and then wasn't hunted down anymore I guess? I don't k ow. It was just really weirs. and their were some characters that were just suddenly there with no context as to why they meant so much, then gone again without context. and there were weird sex scenes with complete strangers. I don't know. It was just so hard to follow and all I got out of it was a feeling of confused sadness.

excellent!

probably my favorite book in the trilogy- super well one. The ending was supremely awesome. I wish there were some more things that we knew about- a couple mysteries and stories left standing. But the time travel and stuff was really awesome. I was sad to see it end- the whole thing they were fighting wasn't always clear as to how evil it was but the character development was excellent, and it was just sad to see the characters go. over all a fantastic read.

Historia
It has been 20 years since the end of the war. The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

quite well done

I really enjoyed this book. I ran in to it a couple of times before, and I always wondered what it was, especially with Michael Kramer narrating (he always does a fantastic job and this book is no exception). I saw a great deal for it here in audible, and I read the reviews. A lot gave it a bad rap, and a lot said it was great, and is a must read for those who like sanderson and jordan. I kind of form my review from both of these.
To start, the great things. This was a really fun plot. Those who love Sanderson or Jordan probably will love this- it has a very similar complex epic plot structure, with similar world building. The magic system is pretty straight forwards and makes sense, especially because most characters have a definable limit as to how much they can use their power. The history is a fun mystery to unveil. The book itself is very clean. there was virtually no cursing or sexual inninuendo, which I liked (a clean read always feels nice). The time travel stuff it hinted at looks exciting, it was pretty exciting. It's a very fin story that I suggest you read.
Now, for the less desirable things. There weren't a whole ton of things that I disliked. The plot could be a little basic at times- about half of the twists were kind of predictable. The foreshadowing was pretty obvious- as in you could tell when he was foreshadowing. The foreshadowing wasn't such that it really helped you though. With Sanderson, the foreshadowing is super hidden, but when you get to a big twist, you are super shocked but also feel a "dang. I should have seen that coming." With this, you either saw it coming just because that follows the plot, or it just came as a random thing. So the foreshadowing isn't great. The time jumps are wierd and hard to follow- you think it's xontinuous, but it will have really suddenly been an hour, or several weeks, and that was just a little hard to follow. I wish we had more kind of mixed characters. Every good side person seemed mostly morally flawless, and they grasped their power with ease. All the women are apparently gorgeous, which was wierd.
over all, it was an excellent book, definitely deserves 4 stars, if you like intense world building multi plot mind bending fantasy, this is a great book to go for.

Historia
In the world of Warbreaker, each person is born endowed with the power of one Breath―which can be sold and collected by others, then used to Awaken objects and even corpses to do their bidding. A few individuals who die in glory return as gods, with the power of thousands of Breath, but no memory of their mortal lives―and are enthroned in the Court of Gods in Hallandren’s capital. To Vivenna and Siri, princesses of Idris, the abuse of Breath and the claim of the Returned to be gods are repugnant blasphemy.

This is one of my favorite books. I love listening to it. And though the narrator isn't one of Brandon's usual narrators, she does a fantastic job. I love the cosmere theory hinted here, especially with what has been revealed in the stormlight archive and rhythm of war. the character arc and growth with the switch of characters is awesome. I am excited for the eventual sequel, it should reveal a lot and be pretty fun. It was very enjoyable.
