Historia
Martin Lorensen is a twenty-three-year-old counselor for disturbed teenagers. He’s bright, compassionate, attractive, and outgoing. He’s also—and this is the most interesting thing—not dead. Martin has improbably survived not one but two deadly disasters that claimed dozens of lives. The kid is riding one hell of a lucky streak. Two federal agents think there is something darker at play. Now that they’ve arranged to interview Martin, they want answers. Martin is ready to share everything he knows. One thing is for certain: when it comes to escaping death, luck doesn’t figure into it at all.

Short and very sweet
Revisado: 11-11-24
This was the right length for a short drive. It holds your attention, and keeps it the whole way as the story unfolded. It started to be a bit predictable by the end, but that’s how it was supposed to be. It a worthy, easy read that is interesting and suspenseful the whole time.

Historia
Running away from home at 17 wasn't easy. Let's face it, though, nothing before or in the ten years since has ever been easy for me. And I'm doing okay—sorta. I just need to keep scraping by, living under the radar. Staying out of people's way, off people's minds. When a man walks through my open patio door, stepping boldly into my home and my life, I should be scared, frightened, terrified. I must be more broken than I realized because I'm none of those things. I'm intrigued—and I'm wondering if the way to take control of my life is by giving in to him.

Raunchy, bordering nasty
Revisado: 11-04-24
Well it’s my own fault, I wanted something different. This is basically just dirty sex the whole time. The narrators voices bugged me because it sounded like a bad soap opera. The plot seemed too unrealistic, so I just had to come along and wait for things to level back out. Overall, if you’re looking for straight smut, you found it. If you want a better storyline, find something else.

Took a while
Revisado: 08-30-24
It really wasn’t bad at all, it just took a long while for the steam to start, but when it did…. 😳. Maybe it’s just not my style, but if you like it really REALLY dirty, you’ll like it. The narrators are wonderful, and bet they had drinks and a good time after they recorded they had so much chemistry. I like the plot too, it was an interesting twist. Although it would’ve been nice to have more time in the investigative part of their “hobby”. Overall, not bad if you like justice served, super raunchy sex scenes, and an enjoy character development. Enjoy!

Historia
If the broken neon signs, shuttered storefronts, and sub-standard housing didn’t tip you off, you’ve just wandered into the city of “Undisclosed”. You don’t want to be caught dead here, because odds are you just might find yourself rising from the grave. That hasn’t stopped tourists from visiting to check out the unusual phenomena that hangs around our town like radioactive fallout. Interdimensional parasites feeding on human hosts, paranormal cults worshipping demonic entities, vengeful teenage sorcerers, we’ve got it all.

Fun story, but confused at times
Revisado: 12-27-22
I actually love books like this, but they have to flow to be worthwhile. This book definitely flows, but it feels like it might be going down several streams at once. It was hard to keep up with for my one track mind, but if you can follow the story, it’s really good:) It even has little gems of enlightenment, (2hrs, and 32 minutes from the end gave me so much to think about!) it’s a little hitchhikers guide done American style with more twists and turns and less aliens. Have fun!

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Beautiful story
Revisado: 04-08-21
Although you can kind of guess how it will end, it doesn’t really matter somehow. The story is written in way to subtly cue your emotions, and start you thinking about ways that you relate to the characters. I really enjoyed the clean, eloquent narration, and loved how she was able to vary her voice when switching characters so effortlessly. I stayed interested in the book from the beginning to the end, and feel closure as it ended. The book is very soothing and thought provoking, I enjoyed it very much!

The Stand’s nicer cousin
Revisado: 07-26-20
I love how the author really developed the characters, and made it easy to follow the storyline even with switching perspectives.
That being said, it was very wordy, and although it was interesting, I felt very excited, and connected to some characters and others were like a cheese grater to my ears. I hated listening to their parts because it seemed to drone on way too long.
Overall, the narrator did a wonderful job, and I love how he was consistent in his voices, and his speed of reading.
Really enjoyed the book, and if there were any advice to give, I would say, choose one: The Stand by Stephen King OR Swan Song. Not both. Unless you love to live in similar stories of death and light.
They are NOT.. THE ..same story, but the premise of good vs. evil with travelers in the US is pretty much parallel.
