Historia
Alice begins her fantastic journey by following an unprecedented White Rabbit with a pocket watch. While in the topsy turvy world of Wonderland, Alice takes advice from a caterpillar and attends a mad tea party. She meets the Mock Turtle and the Gryphon, and participates in a ludicrous courtroom scene. Each character has its own charming voice, as B. J. Harrison delivers one of his most whimsical performances.

I was surprised to discover that Disney’s cartoon is pretty true to the story. I enjoyed listening to this and can’t wait to introduce my children to it when they’re old enough.

Reading this again as an adult (and teaching it to my freshmen) has been a joy. This is a timeless novel full of lessons that many of us adults need reminders of.

With passion and purpose, Greg Laurie and Ellen Vaughn tell the amazing true story of the Jesus Movement, an extraordinary time of mass revival, renewal, and reconciliation. Setting fascinating personal stories within the context of one of the most tumultuous times in modern history, the authors draw important parallels with our own time of spiritual apathy or outright hostility, offering hope for the next generation of unlikely believers - and for the next great American revival.

Revisado: 06-29-23
As someone who started going to a Calvary church in college it was really neat to hear about its origins. We need Jesus, plain and simple. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from, your beliefs or anything else. You are a child of God and Jesus wants that relationship with you.

Second time through and I’ll probably listen again
Revisado: 05-30-23
This is a great book that is highly relevant to anyone. It doesn’t matter what you do with your life. If you’re in sales, ministry, teaching, keeping the home… we all have to negotiate with people regularly. This helps bring into focus what it means to negotiate and helps you realize that a lot of your instincts about negotiation were probably wrong. Brilliant and easy to understand.

Jefferson Bethke burst into the cultural conversation in 2012 with a passionate, provocative poem titled “Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus.” The four-minute video of Bethke’s spoken-word performance literally became an overnight sensation, with seven million YouTube views in its first forty-eight hours (and 24 million within a year). The message hit like a blizzard on social-media sites and in forwarded e-mails, triggering an avalanche of responses running the gamut from encouraged to enraged.

Great book for new and old believers alike
Revisado: 04-28-23
I am by no means a “new” believer and yet in some ways am an absolute baby Christian. This served as a good reminder of what it means to love God and to be His follower. It doesn’t mean avoiding a certain amount of sin. It doesn’t mean acting a certain way. It means, seeking after Christ. Jefferson does a great job at reminding of this while sharing his personal story and not getting preachy. You can tell he is going through this journey with us.

Historia
The time is 1933, the place, Berlin, when William E. Dodd becomes America’s first ambassador to Hitler’s Germany in a year that proved to be a turning point in history. A mild-mannered professor from Chicago, Dodd brings along his wife, son, and flamboyant daughter, Martha. At first Martha is entranced by the parties and pomp, and the handsome young men of the Third Reich with their infectious enthusiasm for restoring Germany to a position of world prominence. Enamored of the “New Germany,” she has one affair after another....

Let down by the ending
Revisado: 01-10-23
The story was rich with details. Larson really takes his time with the exposition but then I feel rushed the climax and resolution. With how much time he lays the foundation for the taking over of Hitler and the Nazis over Germany there certainly isn’t much during the time of their overtaking of the government. The end feels rushed and lacking the effort and care that was put in to the set up. He’s a great writer but I feel cheated.

Historia
Many believers feel stunted in their Christian growth. We beat ourselves up over our failures and, in the process, pull away from God because we subconsciously believe He tallies our defects and hangs His head in disappointment. In this new edition - now with a foreword by Michael W. Smith, testimony by Rich Mullins and the author's own epilogue, "Ragamuffin Ten Years Later," Brennan Manning reminds us that nothing could be further from the truth.

Revisado: 12-31-22
This is a must for anyone seeking out truth about God, pursuing their own faith or want to understand Christianity for what it really is… pure love of God and acceptance of the Truth that Jesus died for us. We are wretched sinners and God loves us so much he sent his only son to die a horrific death. Brennan Manning captures the beautiful truth of what it means to be a ragamuffin. We are broken and have nothing to offer except our hearts.

Stunning...a wonderful listen...a handbook for life. Those words of advance praise from another celebrated author scarcely convey just how powerfully mesmerizing is the latest book by New York Times best-selling author and nationally syndicated radio talk show host Larry Elder. Dear Father, Dear Son is a personal memoir of Elder's troubled - one might even say tortured - relationship with his father, and the astonishing outcome that develops when Elder, at long last, confronts him.

A great story of the redemption between father and son. Forget politics, this is about family and growing up. This is about learning what’s right, and learning to communicate. Makes me sad they didn’t give him a proper chance in California but I think this isn’t the last we’ve heard of Larry Elder.

Historia
Sports media superstar Clay Travis wants to save sports from the social justice warriors seeking to turn them into another political battleground. Having ruined journalism and Hollywood, far-left-wing activists have now turned to sports. Travis argues it’s time for right-thinking fans everywhere to put down their beers and reclaim their teams and their traditions. In Republicans Buy Sneakers, Too, he replays the arguments he’s won and lays out all the battles ahead. His goal is simple: to make sports great again.

One of the absolute best
Revisado: 07-18-21
Usually the biggest geniuses of their time received the most flak in their day. Clay Travis is one of those people; not afraid to speak the truth. This was a fantastic book and sadly, it was a very accurate depiction of where sports has found itself in current times. A must read for anyone slightly interested in sports and the culture that it shapes and is shaped by.
