Bad Narrators

It's difficult to enjoy a book when both narrators are not good. The story isn't too bad and falls in line with quite a bit of other books in this sub-genre, however, some of the writing seems like words were thrown in because the author couldn't think up a better line. If that makes any sense to you.
Is it worth getting? If you're like me and struggle with an actual book/ebook due to poor eyesight, I would look elsewhere until you run out of better narrators. I've heard worse but I wish I could shake some sense into authors. They need to realize that a narrator can destroy any hope of selling a series, let alone a single book. And, the sad part is that the entire series is read by the same narrators.

The first three quarters of the book is pretty boring. I'm thinking the author was trying to give us some background for the series, but so much was missing, while some could have been eliminated. Another problem for me is the jumping ahead to complete a scene.- Example- I need to go to the colony. Ok, I'm now at the colony.- More could have been put into this book to keep my attention.
As far as the narrators- meh. I've heard worse. The female narrator seems off on some of her pacing and emotions, just enough to throw you out of the listen. The male narrator is definitely not the best choice for a demon-looking alien. His voice has a nasally whine to it that just doesn't fit. I wish he had a deep bass voice with growly tendencies.
Will not continue this series.

I wasn't a fan of the previous female narrator, but I'd take her over this one. The male narrator was also removed, big mistake. This narrator really likes to giggle during conversations at times that are not appropriate to giggle.
November is a victim of an attack in NYC and decides to move to Tennessee to be with her dad. Here's my problem- although she was abused and treated like dog crap by her mother, she's way too naive for someone that lived in NYC all her life.

I've listened to tons of romance books in many different sub genres, including saccharin sweet ones that make you go awe. My biggest problem with this one is the female narrator, she sounds way too young and she cannot do a males voice. Her attempt at accents are comparable to a mentally challenged robit. The writing feels like this was written by a teenager. The amount of time describing what she was wearing throughout could take up a chapter. Too much time describing the surroundings and I have no idea what the alphas look like. Although my mind wandered quite often, so I may have missed it. I only got to chapter 14. I give up and returning due to the poor narration.

Honestly, the narrator bored the stuffing out of me. His tone is very odd. I'm the kind of person that prefers a male narrator, but not this one. As for the story, it could have been better if parts weren't skimmed over. Too much exciting stuff was omitted. I finished the book, but will not continue the series.

Male narrator is pretty dull, barely a shift in emotions, or inflections. I think the book could be pretty decent if it was fleshed out more. Brianni left her pack but there is no resolution for her family. How does the pack handle and adapt to the mating? I have questions, but not interested enough to continue the series.

I may be biased due to preferring sci-fi romance over contemporary but here's where my problem lies....
The series is Maxwell Brothers and there is no brother as an MC in this book. It should just be called The Maxwells. Trivial, I know.
Both narrators are very good. I know Savannah Peachwood is a favorite for some, but she's a little too young sounding for me. Again, another bias.
The story- The FMC is supposed to be an intelligent person, yet doesn't want to talk about her legal issues to anyone. Shhh... maybe it will go away- attitude. It's a very boring story. Nothing exciting going on so my mind wanders.
Another bias- not a fan of first person POV because of all the pointless ramblings going on in their heads that aren't necessary. The constant What Ifs--- blah, blah, boring.

Narration was good, story had some funny moments, but the romance was missing. This book was lust to love within a couple weeks and the couple hardly even spent time together. The scene with Killian in Ireland was odd because extras were used in the story, but they were there for filler. I think just to give us an idea of what Killian does for work, which is still not very clear.
This book has a plug from Aurora Rose Reynold's Until Series which isn't the first book I've seen the Mason's brought into. I really shouldn't call it a plug since the second half of the book has the Mason's in it. And if an author is going to piggy back other authors works, at least let the narrators know that November (whom I've always thought of as a ditz) is a New Yorker, she shouldn't have a southern accent. This should have been a collaboration with Ms. Reynold's. Second half of story is really boring with the hospital drama that had nothing to do with the couple other than Gus's indecision for staying in Boston or moving back to Tennessee. The sex scene is in the end of the story... why?.. because they spent very little time together. Odd short story that was more boring than entertaining.

Thirty minutes is all it took for me to find a way to return this, which I can't because I didn't use a credit to purchase. I have no idea if the stories are any good. This narrator has little to no inflection all the while it sounds like she's clenching her jaw. Listen to the sample before purchasing, I forgot to and am kicking myself for wasting money.

Narration- Chandra Skyye did not find her calling. I'm not sure this narrator can sound any more bored. There is an obvious lack of training. I had to rewind often from losing Interest. I truly believe it's due to the narration. I often repeated many lines in my head to make it sound like the proper emotion it was meant to have. I cannot continue with the series due to Ms. Skyye being the narrator for the rest of the books.

Story- I have not finished the book yet, but as far as the story, the beginning was fine, we had a decent backstory. After a few chapters, we're in the middle section. FMC does not act with normal behavior for being kidnapped by paranormal creatures. She's apathetic to her situation and sings. (SMH) Within a day of meeting, the FMC fell in love with the MMC. It was way too soon. One reviewer posted that there was too much sex. I have over two hrs left and they have yet to have sex, which is not a typical Milly Taiden sexfest timeline.

I love Ms. Taiden's shifter books and will continue with them and avoid all narration done by Ms. Skyye
