Historia
It's been 53 turns after the legendary Commander Zero graduated as a Congie warrior. Joe, now a battle-hardened veteran, has spent his life surviving wars he had no right to survive. Yet his real test is coming: New forces are conspiring to start a great war like the universe has never seen, one that would rip apart the very fabric of Congress. Joe is conscripted to fight the very war everyone has been fearing since the rise of the Dhasha: the war against the legendary Dhasha Vahlin. Unfortunately for Joe, at the same time, other ruthless powers are conspiring to kill him.

this book is like Shrek
Revisado: 08-01-22
Shrek is an ogre. ogres are like onions. onions have layers. this book has layers.
seriously you need to read it like three times or listen to it three times too get all the little nuances because the more you read it the more you understand and the more little things that you think are said flippantly are actually important. for instance there is a particular line that feels like a throwaway line in the first few chapters of the book, and you realize that it wasn't a throwaway line, it was a foreshadowing toward the very end of the book that was completely unexpected. that's just one of the dozens and dozens.

An interesting new take
Revisado: 04-03-22
great series so far.
i don't like the narrator. he is competent, but only has like 3 voices, and the main one for the aliens gets tiresome to listen to. don't get me wrong, you should listen to this, i am just telling you what i didn't like. an interesting take on the system, power acquisition, etc. all of these books take interesting turns for a fan of listening but not over analyzing.

The problem with lying about having a super weapon is that the bad guys might believe they have nothing to lose by doing something stupid that both sides will regret. Or, they might just call your bluff. Either way, the Merry Band of Pirates need a plan to deal with the Fallout.

Historia
He was Tiger, born of the desert winds, raised as a slave and winning his freedom by weaving a special kind of magic with a warrior's skill. Now he was an almost legendary sword-dancer, ready to take on any challenge - if the price was right…or if the woman pretty enough. She was Del, born of ice and storm, trained by the greatest of Northern sword masters. Now, her ritual training completed and steeped in the special magic of her own rune sword, she had come South in search of the young brother stolen five years before.

This is not the voice of Tiger.
Revisado: 12-03-21
Steven Bel Davies is not the voice for this series. it makes it hard to listen to. read below for the full review.
I have read and reread these books since high school, so over 25 years. The story and the characters, in their own development, both as men and women, are nearly perfect in my opinion. I always find something new and interesting every time I read these books. both as a collection and individually. as a man who has very little time to actually read anymore, finding the audibles was, i thought, a godsend. but, alas, to my dismay, they chose a narrator that is literally the opposite of what I would expect to hear.
Tiger is a battle worn and hardened sword fighter in a very unforgiving climate; with a very unforgiving upbringing. I'm sure Steven Bel Davies does amazing work on other titles, but definitely not this one. He sounds like a meek 5 ft 2, 120 lb accountant trying to make you think that he's 6'2 and 200 lb warrior, and it just doesn't work. also, his idea of what Dell sounds like is way off, in my opinion. When I think of a 5 ft 10, blonde haired blue-eyed, strong, porcelain-skinned beauty with a heart of steel, I imagine a Norwegian or a Swedish woman. I don't know what accent he was going for but it doesn't make any sense at all.

Historia
When marine private Oliver Chadwick Gardenier is killed in the marine barrack bombing in Beirut, somebody who might be Saint Peter gives him a choice: Go to heaven, which, while nice, might be a little boring, or return to earth. The Boss has a mission for him, and he's to look for a sign. He's a marine: He'll choose the mission. Unfortunately, the sign he's to look for is "57". Which, given the food services contract in Bethesda Hospital, creates some difficulty. Eventually it appears that God's will is for Chad to join a group called Monster Hunters International.

Historia
Accidentally murdered by a cleric in another universe during a botched resurrection, Arnold, a semi-pro gamer, wakes upon an altar to find himself incarnated into the overweight body of a farmer who could have been his fatter twin. He’s not the hero. He’s not the villain. He’s certainly not the chosen one who is there to save the world. He’s a clerical error. It could be a bad joke, but apparently, it happens so often that they have a standard procedure for returning you.

going to this blind. don't read anything about it. just trust all the five star reviews. just like the Martian, the hard sciences there along with the science fiction. an incredible story that was very hard to stop listening to when I had to. definitely one of the best books I've ever bought along with the Martian.

SJW forced trash
Revisado: 12-10-20
Save your time. don't listen to this. this adds to the story ZERO. hated it. RP1 didn't need a sequel. while it was a lot of fan service, this takes it to the extreme. this isn't fun to listen to and the sjw politics feel forced most of the time, where cline just couldn't help himself and had to shove in ideological word vomit, instead of telling a compelling story. too much exposition if you ask me. some of it was ok, i couldn't wait to get through the prince act in the book... felt like it was never going to end. i listened to most of it, wish i hadn't, just a huge waste of time. returning.
