Historia
The colony on Haven-7 has gone rogue. The colonists have split into two factions: the Techborn and the Dusters. The Techborn have always ruled the planet. They control the remnants of the crashed starship that brought humanity to this new world. The Dusters… they eat Techborn dust. Now, the Techborn strength is waning. Their weapons are getting old, and radiation leaks from the aging reactors have created mutations. Some of these, like their brutish troops known as Tuskers, have proven useful—but others are abominations.

He writes the same book over and over again
Revisado: 11-14-24
It's really simple, Larson, continues to write the same tired book over and over again. It is a Neanderthal Flash Gordon. Things that make no sense other than to facilitate the advancement of this silly ultra-man nonsense, The main character's incessant ogling and description of every woman in the book is tiresome. It would really be nice to have some more thoughtful and imaginative narratives in these books, but I fear that Larson is not capable of anything beyond this simple trite tripe.

It's just lazy
Revisado: 01-24-24
The story is mostly lazy and uninspired. The machinations the author goes through to move the plot forward are nonsensical and just plain insulting. Mr. Larson should stop trying to write political intrigue, he is not good at it. The constant manufacturing of ridiculous logic to get the ship and crew to the next calamity is exhausting. The performance was fine. Mr. Boyett is entertaining, but his variety of portrayals is somewhat limited. If you are already invested in the series, it is serviceable. If you are evaluating starting a new series, I would say pass.

This is book is just plain nauseating
Revisado: 05-06-23
I’m going to keep this simple. The relationship drama is telenovella level nonsense. I swear if I beat the word melody one more time it’ll be too soon. This book proceeds as though it were written by a angsty teen with a hero complex. Not that the other two books were stellar but this one was really just a badly written super hero story without the depth of the comic world. On the bright side, RC. Bray’s performance was stellar as usual. The last thing I’ll say is, if I weren’t a person that likes to complete things, this one would have been returned to audible. Even with that being the case, I still had to skip large sections of this book. Your mileage may vary

Historia
Contains books three and four of Time Wars Last Forever. Fragmented Time: Time is tearing apart. The Earth and every soul on it are not just gone; they never even existed. Jon Ryan's hopes of pulling off yet another miracle are evaporating like drops of rain on hot desert sands. Shattered Time: Time has not been kind to Jon Ryan. It almost seems personal between the two of them. His mission to resurrect a lost Earth gets more complicated, more dangerous, and less likely to succeed with each new barrier thrown in his path.

Too Clever by 7 million, six hundred thousand...
Revisado: 08-22-22
This book, this series of books are not great, they are "barely" passable. The author thinks that quippy banter is entertaining, when in fact they are not all that clever and their overuse is annoying at best and infuriating at worst, Without all this purile banter the books could literally have been half the length. If you like to be annoyed this is the book for you. Why is the author constantly verbally assaulting the poor "nerdy" kid? The recurring degradation is gratuitous and just plain mean, especially since the nerdy kid is the only character that has to endure anything remotely close to this treatment. As an aside, why do all the foes have the accents they do...? I am not making a judgement, I will leave you to make that decision on your own, but I will say they are conspicuous, as are all the character choices. That said, seems like the author needs to help the characters grow up.

Running out of ideas...
Revisado: 12-13-18
It seems Mr. Wood s running out of ideas. While I expect it to be somewhat formulaic, it really is just a rehash of previous books. Further more the injection of yet another romance line, that inexplicably makes Maddock and idiot is neither wanted or necessary. This is especially true with the love interest being rather unlikable, just as a person. That said, I will likely listen to the next installment, but the quality of the series has taken a distinct turn for the worse.

Formulaic but fun.
Revisado: 08-19-18
It was an interesting concept, but it pretty much follows the same formula as every other book of this genre. That said, it is an entertaining diversion. It is fairly well written without too many incredible lapses in logic. I believe I will continue with the series to see where it goes. I would recommend it.

Particle physics was always an unlikely path to the stars, but with the discovery that space could be compressed, the entire galaxy had come within reach. The technology was astonishing, yet nothing compared to what humans encountered 4,000 light-years from home. Now, with an invitation from a mysterious gatekeeper, the people of Earth must decide if they're ready to participate in the galactic conversation.

A disappointment...
Revisado: 07-13-18
This book was a departure from the first one in that it really has nothing new to say. The plot was contrived and trite. The narration was horrible. It is never a good idea to change narrators mid-series, but the narrator's vocalization of male characters sounded like a person with a severe cold. The characters were "out of character" as compared to the previous book, which isn't hard given their thin background. I simply feel as though the plot was weak and the decisions of a great many of the characters were ridiculous. In the end I wouldn't recommend this chapter of the story.

Well F*!? , S*?#, F&$!
Revisado: 08-21-16
I don't even really know what to say about this abhorrent book. It's full of weak characters and even sillier situations. It is full of the presumably the author's political views which are at BEST tangential to the story line... such as it is. this is all accompanied by unnecessary profanity by the hollow attempt at a masculine character. All that said, the "concept" was tenable initially, but as the book continued it became less sci Fi and far more pre-teen romance novel. It was really a bad book, certainly worse than the first, which wasn't great to begin with... Oh, and if the main character cries one more time I will literally lose my lunch.
