Historia
Having escaped from prison, serial killer Edmund Cox returns to his hometown of Killen. Entering the woods with his “darlings” in his pocket, he begins a new quest along the Hollow River, hoping to make good on one final deal with The River Man. What Edmund doesn’t realize is he’s not going alone. Keith Drakeson is one of the police detectives who hunted Cox the first time around, and he considers the killer’s escape an insult to his legacy.

horrific gumbo
Revisado: 11-10-23
It's not too often the sexual surpasses the original, but Triana has accomplished this. I liked Gone to See The Riverman, but i love the sequel. This deserves an award as much as Night Stockers, and I hope he gets it.

A rest stop with a reputation for abandoned cars in the middle of nowhere, and a family on their way to a new home turns into a tale of terror. Sometimes, it's better to keep driving, no matter how tired you are.

Almost...
Revisado: 10-25-23
There have been a lot of tales warning about cannibals hiding out in the woods. What makes this one different is the constant terror throughout, and how it ended. Told like an intellectual version of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a family of three make what could very well be their last stop. A quick and brutal tale of psychological and physical torture capped off by an epic chase scene.

Historia
On a hot August night, a troubled 15-year-old boy with a tragic past wakes to find his tyrannical foster parents murdered by a trio of nocturnal, blood-drinking heathens. The killers give him the opportunity for a new life, one where he can be relieved of traditional hardships, vanquish his enemies, and attain a sense of true belonging...at the cost of what little remains of his humanity. The life he is offered is one of eternal darkness, but the promise of undying acceptance, freedom, and power gives it an appeal that his current dreaded existence is lacking.

In the movie Apocalypse Now, Colonel Kurtz describes how the VC handled a situation where people inoculated with the Polio vaccine, should not have been able to receive it, and what they do about it. Brando says "...then it hit me like a diamond bullet right in the forehead..." that was the EXACT reaction I got out of this brilliant work by Chandler Morrison. This story starts off in the middle of what is going on in the life of the most unfortunate teenager I've ever come across. Then it goes off on a seemingly pointless rant until the diamond bullet moment. A wonderful twist ending to wrap up a fantastic tale told by what maybe a genuine Goddamn genius.

Historia
After years of city life, Orla and Shaw Bennett are ready for the quiet of New York's Adirondack mountains — or at least, they think they are. Settling into the perfect farmhouse with their two children, they are both charmed and unsettled by the expanse of their land, the privacy of their individual bedrooms, and the isolation of life a mile from any neighbor.

A good and Haunting story at the start, but the second half did not seem to match up with the first half. Memorable and likeable character development interwoven with the author's personal opinions the audience did not ask for and does not want. Starts off strong but ends on a weaker note.

Vampires have always lived in Eastern Europe. But with the fall of the Soviet Union, they began to spread across the continent, then the world, turning whole populations into vampires - or human cattle. Having overrun India, the far East, and the great cities of North and South America, the forces of Night are now spreading into the countryside to consolidate their conquest.

If so check out this apocalyptic tale of narcissistic and brutal blood suckers. I came across this after watching the Netflix miniseries which I also enjoyed. This tale is a deeper in depth telling of loss, revenge, and the courage it takes to stand up and fight back.

Historia
Outlandish and emotional, this humorous novel centers on Sheldon Funk, a struggling actor who dies in a bus restroom only to awaken during his autopsy and attack the coroner. Fleeing into the wintry streets of Toronto, Sheldon realizes he’s now a zombie - as if he didn’t have enough on his plate already. His last audition, reading for the reality television series House Bingo, had gone disastrously wrong. His mother is in the late stages of dementia, his savings are depleted, his agent couldn’t care less, and his boyfriend is little more than a set of nice abs.

A different spin on the zombie genre as this is told from a first person point of view. A dark humor tale interwoven with some woke nonsense and unnecessary political jabs. Some details left open to interpretation and lose ends not properly tied off at the end. It is still a bleak, violent, and humorous story.
