Historia
Several years ago, an ARkStorm, a once-in-a-thousand-years flood event caused by a series of intense atmospheric rivers, flooded the Central Valley of California from Sacramento to what was once Los Angeles. The weight of the water was equivalent to the volume generated by the Mississippi River times 22. It challenged an already fragile seismic system consisting of hundreds of active faults.

Historia
Akart"s standalone novel, ARkStorm, is based on actual events. In 1861, a 43-day series of atmospheric rivers, huge flows of moisture carried from the tropics to the West Coast, turned large swaths of California into an inland sea. The intense rainstorms pounded the state unabated with little respite. Rivers became raging torrents that swept away entire communities, killing thousands. The State’s Central Valley turned a massive body of water 300-miles long and 20-miles wide.

Over the course of the book the author paints very clear imagery of how the disaster is affecting the geography. The characters decisions felt relatable and believable.

Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester"s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener"s hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Worth the time
Revisado: 03-02-23
I recommend giving it a listen. Read other’s reviews after finishing and glad I didn’t see them to dissuade me before hand.
I enjoy plots that focus on human nature during a crisis and this definitely fits the bill. To the reader there are very clear good guys and bad guys, but I believe the characters are presented that in their world it’s not that clear.
I’m disappointed to see other reviews say they think this is picking on the religious and republican political side. The main group of bad guys do tend to be in that sect, but I think it’s used as a tool in this fictional situation because they can be the bad guys. The main villain uses his good-ole boy and god-fearing persona as a way to manipulate others in the crisis, which is a very real possibility.
Overall I’d say it’s probably not going to be your favorite book, but it’s a good addition to the genre.

Historia
Raze is "just" a lowly Gearblin chained to the quest-giver desk at the worst (and only) arcade in town. And that’s a problem for her. It means that she’s a Non-Participating Citizen, someone who can’t see her stats nor make opposed rolls against Heroes. It’s why her life’s worth less than the vendor trash she doles out. The old-timers swear it didn’t used to be like this; their issues only began once RNGesus went AFK a thousand years ago, leaving the questionably blessed Heroes to conquer everything without consequence.

The nerd in you will thank you for listening
Revisado: 02-23-21
I enjoyed every aspect of this audiobook from the story to the performance. The plot is fun with NPCs you want to root for. If you enjoy World of Warcraft, D&D, or other fantasy games I think you’ll enjoy all the references.
I enjoy Felicia Day as an actress and was recommended this book due to her narration, it did not disappoint! Her energy, nerd knowledge, and talent are perfect for this book.
Highly recommended for teenagers and adults since it does have some adult language and sexual references.

Historia
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King"s hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There"s just one slight problem. It"s only been 23 years since the Demon King"s latest rise, and this time, he"s already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero"s return, there may be no world left for him to save.

If you like Role Playing video games, you’ll enjoy this!
Revisado: 06-11-20
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if an RPG character was aware of the game systems that controlled them? Mana pool, experience points to level up, or skill proficiency? This book had an enjoyable way of presenting a world where things like this are know and utilized much like you would playing the game. Strong elements similar to Skyrim, World of Warcraft, and Legend of Zelda made the story relatable to a long time gamer.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy and RPG type story plots!
