Historia
Let me tell you all I know for sure. My name: Shauna. I woke up in a hospital bed missing six months of my memory. In the room was my loving boyfriend - how could I have forgotten him? - my estranged father and my abusive stepmother. Everyone blames me for the tragic car accident that left me near death and my dear brother brain damaged. But what they say can't be true - can it?

Not his best...
Revisado: 01-18-19
This was the only book by Ted Dekker that I am aware of the I had not read or listened to. So, I downloaded it even though I did not like the intro. It is far from his best work. I do not recommend the listen other than to say you did to complete the collection. It simply was not up to par, disappointing, and petty at times. it is more what you would expect from a romance writer in places. Very frustrating. He is a much better writer than this booked showed.

But after a raid goes horribly wrong, Jacob finds himself in a living nightmare - trapped in a crowded, stinking car on the train to the Auschwitz death camp.

Great Except for One Character's Voice
Revisado: 11-23-18
This was a good book and absolutely worth the listen. The performance was very good with the exception of one character who was an elderly Frenchman. Unfortunately, he at times sounded like an intoxicated Frenchman who slurred his words with, I envisioned, slobber running down his chin. I finally got tired of rewinding to try to understand what he was saying and let the story fill in the blanks.
That character was only at the end of the story and he sobered up as time went on. So, I was finally able to understand him. All-in-all, definitely purchase and enjoy.

Weak at the end...
Revisado: 09-27-18
This was my 5th Scott Pratt novel. I have listened to the previous 4 Joe Dillard books. This book was sub-par. My opinion is that Pratt's characters have stupid tendencies. But, his novels are still worth the purchase. This story was OK enough. But, at the end of this one, he either had writer's block or came upon a deadline and had to just wrap it up. If you read it or listen to it, you will see what I mean. I will get the next in series, though, and keep listening.

Only OK
Revisado: 09-16-18
Good concept. I can't really say what I want to say without giving things away. But the "hero" is an idiot and bad. The "villain" is worse. No one deserved the "prize."
I over-generalized there and tried to be cryptic. If you listen, and it is still worth it, you will know what I mean.

Basis of story is good. (No profanity or sex.)
Revisado: 09-01-18
The first JSB book I read, I loved. The second one had a horrible narrator; and this one was too juvenile in parts. There were definitely some, "you have got to be kidding me" moments. There is a point at the end where you will go nuts when someone is looking for something to use for something. (That's all I will say.) But, it is an OK listen, even though it is a too "by the book" mystery/suspense novel. by the way, JSB wrote a book on how to write a book. I haven't read it. Because I am afraid I will see the pattern in his books and that will really ruin it for me. So, even though I am not overly thrilled by this book, I will keep reading his because he does not use profanity or sex.

Will get more by James Scott Bell
Revisado: 08-19-18
An author with a brain. No profanity. No sexual situations. Essentially, no cheap emotional tricks. And, get this: it was a great story! All the suspense was there. The rest of the world should learn something.
Other than that, there were a few times when I said, "Oh, please!" But for the most part, great book. I will continue to listen to all of his if they are this good.
