Historia
Hollywood in the 1950s was a period when the film industry both set conventions and broke norms and traditions—from Cinerama, Cinemascope and Vistavision to the epic film and lavish musical. It was a decade that saw the rise of the anti-hero; the smoldering, the hidden, and the unspoken; teenagers gone wild in the streets; the sacred and the profane; the revolution of the Method; the socially conscious; the implosion of the studios, the end of the production code; and the invasion of the ultimate body snatcher: the “small screen” television.

Long-winded
Revisado: 06-10-24
I didn't care for the author's narration. It was too wordy and I lost interest.

Historia
Congressman Ken Buck (R-CO) is blowing the whistle on the real-life House of Cards going on behind the scenes in our nation's capital. Elected in 2014 as president of one of the largest Republican freshman classes ever to enter Congress, Buck quickly realized why nothing gets done in Congress, and it isn't because of political gridlock - in fact, Republicans and Democrats work together all too well to fleece taxpayers and plunge America deeper into debt.

Good People Can Go Bad
Revisado: 04-07-22
This book, more than any other I've read on the subject, helped me to really understand the temptation of corruption. With an excellent forward by Jim DeMint, freshman senators go through a college "rush" period similar to the old fraternity/sorority system. A newcomer to Washington DC is wined, dined, smothered in gifts and otherwise courted with the hopes of winning the newcomer's vote. It takes character and courage to stand up to the temptations, the ego-boosts and the desire to fit in. You vote "wrong" - you're blackballed and find yourself eating lunch alone. Ken Buck writes his story candidly and with humor. I always wondered why our elected Republicans go RINO on us; now I think I understand.

It’s no wonder that The Power of Now has sold over 16 million copies worldwide and has been translated into over 30 foreign languages. Much more than simple principles and platitudes, the book takes readers on an inspiring spiritual journey to find their true and deepest self and reach the ultimate in personal growth and spirituality: the discovery of truth and light. In the first chapter, Tolle introduces listeners to enlightenment and its natural enemy, the mind.

Ear-splitting "Mindfulness" bell - Ouch!
Revisado: 07-27-21
Too many cooks in the kitchen on this production with 3 different voices - contrived and pretentious. But most infuriating of all was the unexpected, high-pitched bell that literally hurt my ears and annoyed the heck out of me. Tolle's writing is articulate as he usually is. But the production - Ugh - this is a do-over.

Historia
For those who witnessed the global collapse of socialism, its resurrection in the 21st century comes as a surprise, even a shock. How can socialism work now when it has never worked before? In this pathbreaking audiobook, best-selling author Dinesh D’Souza argues that the socialism advanced today by the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, Ilhan Omar, and Elizabeth Warren is very different from the socialism of Lenin, Mao, and Castro.

Courageous exposure of Socialist propaganda
Revisado: 07-13-20
Wonder why Americans are learning to hate their own country? Great summary of what has really been going on with Progressives in power. Focuses on the Clintons and Obama right up to the current corruption of the Leftists in Washington and the vile propaganda spread by the media, schools and popular culture.
