Historia
This provocative book introduces a brand-new view of technology. It suggests that technology as a whole is not a jumble of wires and metal but a living, evolving organism that has its own unconscious needs and tendencies. Kevin Kelly looks out through the eyes of this global technological system to discover "what it wants." He uses vivid examples from the past to trace technology's long course and then follows a dozen trajectories of technology into the near future to project where technology is headed.

Outstanding Insightful Foresight
Revisado: 02-02-23
Kevin Kelly, having earlier written the wide-ranging, insightful books - Out of Control and The Inevitable - here sets his deep mind to show us our future. Out of the enormous noise in which most of us find, embrace and cling to our local realities, Kevin Kelly, with genius rises above the ubiquitous noise and having found the signals draws the vision for those of us on search with him to see our way forward. Likening himself to an Amish Farmer / Futurist, Kelly ends up speaking of God and technology. If the technology surrounding us that we so eagerly embrace and is so thoroughly changing us, while getting smarter all the time, if this is not the hand of God, then what is?

insight
Revisado: 09-09-20
This book provides insight into the personality and philosophy of Steve Bannon like no other. Going forward, the first world's exponentially exploding debt will cause increasingly collapsing economies in which populism on the left and right become dominant political forces. Bannon fights to motivate with anger the traditional social organizations of family, religion, individual integrity, merit based free markets and smaller government against those who believe in a bigger more powerful state with less individual incentive and freedom. Using only the observations of how humans have organized themselves in the past, Bannon is clearly on the right side of history.
But, with rapidly advancing sophistication of technologies - Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and other new technologies - a lot of deep changes become inevitable and Bannon's advantages as time advances may become less clear.

Historia
Within each of us is an ancient mechanism that eliminates toxic materials, initiates fat burning, and protects cells from becoming dysfunctional - or turning cancerous. It’s called autophagy, and when it’s turned on, the complex operation not only can slow down the aging process, it can optimize biological function as a whole, helping to stave off all manner of diseases and affording us the healthy life spans we never thought possible. It’s the body’s ultimate switch to life.

Real Scientist Explains Eating for Healthy Aging
Revisado: 12-31-19
James Clement is a scientist's scientist.
You know, like a musician's musician, as in when your favorite famous musician is asked in an interview who is really great in music and he or she points at someone you've never heard of and says "this person is a truly great musician". A musician's musician. In a similar way we have a scientist's scientist who in this case is the talented, intelligent James Clement diligently working behind the scene in the science of human aging. James has his own non-profit human aging science lab. You might have heard of his work 10 or so years ago when he went around the world collecting DNA samples from the oldest lived humans - the supercentenarian project - done in partnership with Harvard's famously prolific leading light: geneticist George Church. George wrote the forward for this book. Also respected aging research scientist David Sinclair has glowingly reviewed this book. Why? In recent years there have been remarkable scientific advances in understanding mTOR the control center of Anabolism (building protiens) and Catabolism (tearing down, recycling protiens) in essentially all of the 30 trillion or so cells that make up your body.
In the light of this new scientific knowledge, in this book James Clement explains in simple clear language, how: when and what you eat can dramatically improve your health and wellbeing.

Wonderful Book about your Immune System
Revisado: 06-05-19
This is a wonderfully written book describing our marvelous immune systems. I wish there were more books like this, or if this one were only longer. More information. More in depth. I listened to it twice and will again.

Historia
Ragle Gumm has a unique job: Every day he wins a newspaper contest. And when he isn’t consulting his charts and tables, he enjoys his life in a small town, in 1959. At least, that’s what he thinks. But then strange things start happening. He finds a phone book where all the numbers have been disconnected, and a magazine article about a famous starlet named Marilyn Monroe, whom he’s never heard of. Plus, everyday objects are beginning to disappear and are replaced by strips of paper with words written on them, like "bowl of flowers" and "soft-drink stand".
