Historia
Harry Booth started stealing at nine to keep a roof over his ailing mother’s head, slipping into luxurious, empty homes at night to find items he could trade for precious cash. When his mother finally succumbed to cancer, he left Chicago—but kept up his nightwork, developing into a master thief with a code of honor and an expertise in not attracting attention—or getting attached.

Slow beginning worth the wait
Revisado: 04-01-23
I almost gave up on this book. The first few chapters of character development took a long time. However, hang in, the story (a little predictable) gets more interesting. Good suspense, interesting characters and a nice ending.

Historia
As dusk approaches a small Dublin suburb in the summer of 1984, mothers begin to call their children home. But on this warm evening, three children do not return from the dark and silent woods. When the police arrive, they find only one of the children gripping a tree trunk in terror, wearing blood-filled sneakers, and unable to recall a single detail of the previous hours. Twenty years later, the found boy, Rob Ryan, is a detective on the Dublin Murder Squad and keeps his past a secret.

Great Story, Disappointing End
Revisado: 01-12-10
"In the Woods" had a great story, with multiple layers, and wonderful characters. Like many other reviewers, I was disappointed by the ending, I wish the mystery of the missing children from 20 years ago was solved. This mystery was what hooked me in the beginning, but was left unresolved.
I would definitely read another of Tana French's books. Her plot was complex enough that I didn't guess the ending too soon (that's my test for a good mystery).

Historia
Amid death and destruction, hurricane-savaged New Orleans has a new dark force to fear. As the rescue efforts unfold, a grisly discovery is made at one of the massive refrigerator "graveyards". One of these metal hulks contains six human hands - all female, all right hands. The press has dubbed the unknown perpetrator "The Handyman". Captain Patti O'Shay is the straight-arrow, by-the-book cop assigned to the case.

Delightful Portrait of Post-Katrina New Orleans
Revisado: 05-22-09
Last Known Victim describes what it is like in New Orleans after Katrina. The challenges of life and being a police officer spice the well written mystery.
I enjoyed the feel of New Orleans, especially the French Quarter, and the story. I recommend it to others.

Historia
On a rainy morning, not long after the funeral of his mother, Commissario Brunetti and Ispettore Vianello respond to a 911 call reporting a body floating near the steps in one of Venice's side canals. Reaching down to pull it out, Brunetti's wrist is caught by the silkiness of golden hair, and he sees a small foot - together he and Vianello lift a dead girl from the water.

Lacking Pizzaz!
Revisado: 01-20-09
I was hoping for a mystery that would bring the romance and mystery of Venice to life. Instead the book was slow and could have been in any city. It was all right, but I wouldn't highly recommend it.
