A novel about racism
Revisado: 05-21-24
Excellent novel about racism presented as a murder story. The American's DNA is eternally damaged by racism. The Empire of Lies must be destroyed and its inhabitants be purified by fire. Hopefully those who survive will be purged of the racism. Highly recommended novel. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

A Democrat's wet dream
Revisado: 06-13-23
A liberal Democrat full of good intentions and false pride decide to kill Lee H Oswald on the turn of a dime. First half is good 4-5 stars then it's like to eat sweetened sugar, just too much.

A terminally sick story
Revisado: 05-24-23
Only in America can such a story be concocted. The American civilisation is based on violence and it's unique in this way, no other current major civilization repeatedly creates such violent cities, subways, mass shootings, or such violent stories in books, media and movies. "Christine" is another example of a civilization gone mad. The utterly foul and coarse language used by and between people in the story is appalling and depressing. Performance is stunning but wasted on a totally unbelievable story, only a terminally sick culture could produce such a story and love it.

Historia
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

My two cents
Revisado: 05-18-23
Very good narration, first half of the story four star, going down until the last chapter which is only one star, author's snarky liberal comments totally infantil.

Historia
In retreat from a devastating loss and crushing injustice, Katie lives alone in a fortresslike stone house on Jacob’s Ladder island. Once a rising star in the art world, she finds refuge in her painting. The neighboring island of Ringrock houses a secret: a government research facility. And now two agents have arrived on Jacob’s Ladder in search of someone—or something—they refuse to identify. Although an air of menace hangs over these men, an infinitely greater threat has arrived, one so strange even the island animals are in a state of high alarm.

A one star performance ⭐
Revisado: 02-04-23
Sometimes the performer whispers so low I cannot hear her. Her rendering of Libby is worse than one star. The brave, mature, 14 year old Libby sound like an immature 7 year old full of fear lacking any strength.

Historia
A major new biography of the Civil War general and American president, by the author of the New York Times bestseller A. Lincoln. The dramatic story of one of America's greatest and most misunderstood military leaders and presidents, this is a major new interpretation of Ulysses S. Grant. Based on seven years of research with primary documents, some of them never tapped before, this is destined to become the Grant biography of our times.

Uninteresting man
Revisado: 10-29-22
The objective of war is to force the enemy do your will, take away his power and destroy his army. This basic military-political axiom is not clearly presented to the reader. I get the impression that tiny specs on the map were important like Shiloh etc. Those places are just labels in the struggle.

Historia
For most of the last hundred years, Biloxi was known for its beaches, resorts, and seafood industry. But it had a darker side. It was also notorious for corruption and vice, everything from gambling, prostitution, bootleg liquor, and drugs to contract killings. The vice was controlled by small cabal of mobsters, many of them rumored to be members of the Dixie Mafia.

Bad voice for this book
Revisado: 10-19-22
The reader, Michael Beck can only personify people older than 60 years. The floor manager Hobersdorfer sounds like 90 . Hugh sounds like 60 while he's 15-38 in the book.

Outstanding performance
Revisado: 09-15-22
Peter Kenny is the best narrator I ever heard. He can sound like a little child or like a gigantic troll and he always keep it tight, he never goes overboard with any character. The story is mediocre technocratic lifeless masterbation. Without Mr Kenny I could never have finished the book, even skipped the final act as I was so totally uninterested in what would happen to the characters and the fate of their projects.
