Historia
Steve Wheeler is enjoying retired life. He still does the odd bit of investigation work, but he prefers his familiar routines: the pub quiz, his favorite bench, his cat waiting for him at home. His days of adventure are over. Adrenaline is daughter-in-law Amy’s job now. Amy Wheeler thinks adrenaline is good for the soul. Working in private security, every day is dangerous. She’s currently on a remote island protecting mega-bestselling author Rosie D’Antonio, until a dead body and a bag of money mean trouble in paradise. So she sends an SOS to the only person she trusts . . .

Great story, although there were probably one too many characters to follow….i could have done with a couple less.

Historia
Fiona, Sue, and Daisy, three retired ladies who volunteer at the local charity shop, Dogs Need Nice Homes, can’t believe their favorite customer is dead. Eighty-six-year-old Sarah Brown was found murdered in her hallway by her delivery man, a domino clutched in her hand—with a name scratched on it. When another person is found dead with a domino in their hand, and with the police making no progress, the ladies will need to help unmask a serial killer. At least they have Fiona’s scruffy-haired terrier cross to assist them.

Not worth the time
Revisado: 05-13-24
Sorry, as I love a cozy mystery. But this was so dumbed down. The names are silly and there is very little character development to interest me for future use.
Sad. As I really want a new series to read.

Historia
When 14-year-old Zoe Johnson doesn't come home on a Monday night in early December, the alarm bells in Kings Lake Central police station do not ring straight away - after all, she's from the Dockmills, one of the toughest estates in the town. But for Detective Sergeant DC Smith, due to retire in just three weeks' time, there are some strange echoes of the case that has haunted him for the past 13 years. Maybe it's simply his over-developed sense of irony, or maybe, in his final days as a police officer, Smith must look once more into the eyes of a serial killer.

Historia
When a worker goes missing from a North Sea gas platform, there seem to be just two possible explanations - it was a tragic accident or a suicide. It does not take Smith and his detectives long, however, to discover that James Bell led a double life back onshore in Kings Lake, a life complicated enough to make him at least one dangerous enemy. Before the case can be unraveled, Smith must get a new team working together.

Love the series. Not up to par
Revisado: 11-16-23
So looking forward to the next installment from this series. But this one fell flat. Too many hidden details to be a true mystery. And the characters I love each book, hardly had time to shine.

Historia
Judith Potts is 77 years old and blissfully happy. She lives on her own in a faded mansion just outside Marlow, there’s no man in her life to tell her what to do or how much whisky to drink, and to keep herself busy she sets crosswords for The Times newspaper. One evening, while out swimming in the Thames, Judith witnesses a brutal murder. The local police don’t believe her story, so she decides to investigate for herself and is soon joined in her quest by Suzie, a salt-of-the-earth dog-walker, and Becks, the prim and proper wife of the local vicar.

First half awesome far fetched towards end
Revisado: 10-12-23
I like a book that treats the reader as an equal and keeps the story based in reality and the characters true to the traits that have been laid as their foundation. It was an interesting story until it started getting far fetched and rather silly in some of the actions to save Judith in the end.
I want a good mystery with intelligent characters. Towards the end, it seems like it had one or two too many rewrites to make it more entertaining. And they dumbed down the story.

Historia
Ferrying tourists around Dublin for the Leprechaun Limo Service makes quite a change after years in the military. Still, Megan Malone is enjoying her life in Ireland. She likes the scenery, the easy pace, the quirky, quick-witted locals. Everything - except having one of her clients drop dead at the statue of fabled fishmonger, Molly Malone. Most restaurant critics notch up their share of enemies. Elizabeth Darr, however, was a well-loved international star. She and her husband, Simon, had just had dinner when Elizabeth collapsed, and spoiled seafood is the first suspect.

Revisado: 09-25-23
This one had way too many characters that were always named off but never really developed. So why have so many. It was distracting. And the flow was definitely off in this book compared to the other books in the series.

Way too dark and not enjoyable to read

I have enjoyed every book by this author, but this one was not enjoyable. If this is the direction, I am out. The story was dark and somewhat convoluted.
