Historia
In the wake of a global conflict, foreign forces occupy part of Australia, quashing all but a few pockets of local resistance. The tense stalemate ends in 2034, when Jack Dunne reignites the war. Dunne is an Outrider, one of the last elite special operations soldiers in the Resistance. As the enemy prepare to eliminate the freedom fighters once and for all, he is tasked with his final mission. If Dunne and his eleven-year-old son achieve the impossible, and survive, they'll secure their future across the border in Free Australia. But the road to victory will be bloody.

Starts with a bang, and the storm only builds.

An exciting debut. I look forward to seeing more from Mark Wales, a grounded attention to detail allows the story to get larger than life without ever feeling silly. Keeping a deliberate focus in the central characters there's a sense of sharing the hardship and victory with Jack and Harry.

Historia
Mark Wales thought his life would end in a cornfield in Afghanistan. Mark and his SAS troops emerged from that scorched battlefield 12 hours later, his mentor gunned down, his dream career now a nightmare. Over four deployments of intense warfighting, Mark watched the line between right and wrong become blurred. When he left the SAS he was adrift, crippled by guilt. On a mission to rebuild himself, Mark turned his life around. He fought his way into the gates of a US Ivy League business school and into the boardrooms of top-tier international corporations.

An authentic and candid memoir, an archon of modern masculinity
Revisado: 04-23-24
Mark's undeniable strength is tempered by his candid vulnerability, through plain use of language and direct efficient phrases, he tells a story if growth in a thoughtful and relatable way.
Although he at times mentioned moments of uncertainty in his own values and morals, its clear that these are lessons for himself and readers in self believe and the dedication it takes for success.
