Fun, heartwarming story!
Revisado: 12-30-24
I grew up in a house that celebrated Christmas the “German” way, and so I loved the reminders of my childhood peppered throughout this fine romance. EJ Noyes and Abby Craden as always make a great team, and a special shoutout to Ms Craden for her hard work with the German accent, which added an extra delight to this listen!

Hooray for Taylor!
Revisado: 11-17-24
When I read Stars Collide, I found myself wanting to know more about Eden’s bodyguard, Taylor (I have a thing for badass, protective, strong women). So I was thrilled to read Cover Story and get the chance to cheer for Taylor as she finds lasting love.
The story is heart-felt and emotional, with all the action, drama, humor and romance one can expect from a Lacey novel, and a fantastic performance from Quinn Riley that brings all of those moments vividly to life. This is one I will listen to again and again!

Emily Janssen prefers to play it safe. At thirty-five, she’s still working at the inn her grandmothers own while dreaming of a day when she’s able to support herself fully with her art. And while her friends have all hiked to the summit of the mountain in their hometown of Crescent Falls, Vermont, something has always held Emily back. Diana Devlin has already made it to the top. Well, almost. She’s this close to securing the promotion that will put her in line to take over as CEO of her family’s hotel chain when her father retires.

Hot and beautiful
Revisado: 10-23-24
I loved this book. It’s set exactly where it needs to be, the characters are well developed and interesting, and the chemistry between them is unbelievable. Quinn, you have out done yourself with the narration on this audiobook. I loved every minute I listened to this and will probably listen to it 1 million more times. Congratulations Rachel Lacey on an incredibly lovely story filled with heart, sexiness, and hope.

Historia
Set in Southern California, Three Women in Paradise tells the story of passionate student Elektra Brooke. When Elektra becomes entangled in a mesmerizing romance with her enigmatic medieval poetry professor, Dr. Gina Caldwell, she believes she’s discovered paradise. However, this idyllic world rapidly spirals into a nightmarish inferno. Elektra enters a world where the boundary between life and death is terrifyingly thin. Guided by the ancient poet Virgil, she embarks on a chilling journey mirroring Dante’s descent into the Inferno, each step pulling her deeper into the shadows.

A unique and complex story with a lot of heart
Revisado: 09-20-24
I found this book fascinating. Each of the three main characters, brought to life brilliantly by Abby Craden’s narration skills, was simultaneously interesting, infuriating, and wildly entertaining. Despite the fact that the subject matter was heavy (life and death) and required both suspension of disbelief (alternate realities) and at least a passing interest in classical pursuits like painting, opera, and poetry, the writing was light-hearted, funny and endearing. I really rooted for all three women as they struggled to find and re-find each other, and I was on edge throughout the final chapters as I couldn’t predict the outcome. Thanks, Victoria, for writing such a unique story. Now I really want a t-shirt that says Aphrodite’s tits!

Historia
When Colette Remington sees the black horse, she realizes it looks just like the one she dreamed of as a child - a dream that helped her through so many hard times. When she lands a job looking after the horse, it is like it was meant to be, and she thinks that bringing the rescue animal back to health might be as healing for her as it is for the horse. What she doesn't count on is Josie Tearney, owner of the horse, and the most startling, intriguing woman Colette has ever met.

Lovely, unique story
Revisado: 07-15-24
What a beautiful story about love, redemption, and magic. I specifically appreciated how carefully and respectfully topics such as abuse and mental illness were woven into a story that had such love and care associated with it.

Historia
Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Whew! What a ride!
Revisado: 05-25-23
I thoroughly enjoyed this reading. The characters are so compelling, and the topic is so contemporary. I found myself second-guessing the notions I had in my head about opioid addiction. I was born in this part of the world, and I have family there still, and yet I haven’t thought all the way through it – but Kingsolver has me dwelling. Outstanding work by the reader as well – perfectly paced and not over acted.
