Thank God it's over
Revisado: 07-25-23
Should have been called "The Best Bartender Ever!" If you took out all the bartending and drink making it would have been 2 hours shorter. This was 90% romance, 10% thriller. And the final climax of the book was over in 30 seconds. So many unimportant details made this much longer than it had to be.

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Historia
Olga Lengyel tells, frankly and without compromise, one of the most horrifying stories of all time. This true, documented chronicle is the intimate, day-to-day record of a beautiful woman who survived the nightmare of Auschwitz and Birchenau. This book is a necessary reminder of one of the ugliest chapters in the history of human civilization.

Like so many reviews have said, the narrators fake accent detracts from the story. Read it instead

Historia
One moment June Nealon was happily looking forward to years full of laughter and adventure with her family, and the next she was staring into a future that was as empty as her heart. Now her life is a waiting game. Waiting for time to heal her wounds, waiting for justice. In short, waiting for a miracle to happen. For Shay Bourne, life holds no more surprises. The world has given him nothing, and he has nothing to offer the world. In a heartbeat, though, something happens that changes everything for him.

If you like the sound of saliva and smacking mouth noises this book is for you!
Revisado: 01-24-18
I cannot finish this book. One of the narrators in particular makes a lot of disgusting mouth noises. Like he’s got a mouthful of saliva he needs to swallow. Very distracting! Might be a good story if I could actually listen to it. I really wish they would start editing these noises out of Audible books. I always listen to a sample before I purchase but this one has multiple narrators so I was not able to catch it before I bought it.

Historia
Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

Excruciating
Revisado: 06-20-17
I enjoyed the beginning of this book. When Jane was young and full of spunk. About 10 hours in I dreaded listening. I forced myself to finish. I found the narration of the male voices very distracting. The interpretation of the narrator made it difficult for me to like the male characters. Maybe reading it would have been better... but I don't think so :-(

Didn't like male narrator
Revisado: 04-22-17
Would prefer to have had the original narrator do the whole story. I found the male narrator intonation and manner of speaking to be very distracting as the tone of his voice didn't accurately convey what was going on in the story. He always sounded "light" and made Adam sound like an incompetent wuss. Not at all like I'd imagine Adam to sound. Like everything was a question. Drove me nuts. Otherwise would have loved this book as much as the others. Wish I would have read it rather than listen.
