The narration was superb, no AI fake voices! Story-line is good, although a forewarning that the love interests were lesbians would have been nice, only so I could get in the right mindset for it.

A little sex, a few choice adult words thrown in for spice will heat up a story-line nicely. However, when pussy, dick, dildo and highly descriptive sex words are used back to back, I just wanted out of there. This is definitely a "porn book."

How I wish for a romance like that as well as a family connection like they have. Alas, at 65 years old, I’ve resigned myself to romancing my gardens into full bloom and accepting my two loving dogs as my family. These books allow me to dream and feel things that will never be - for me.

The story-line seems authentic, although personally I’m not versed in this violently portrayed story of motorcycle gang life. The language is very vulgar, probably authentic but difficult to listen to for any length of time and definitely not without headphones if anyone else is around. Highly sexually explicit.

As an avid Feehan fan and reader of every published book she has written; I was sorely disappointed in this one. This “appeared” to me to be on the level with and questionable quality of “50 Shades of Gray.” I could neither connect with the main character nor the male interest in anyway.

Compounding the disagreeable discord this writing drew from within me, is the horrendously grating and awful attempt of the narrator to depict a still unrecognizable but yet ear pinching accent for both characters. It was all I could do to make myself listen to the entire story.

I will have to say this will be my first “Feehan Fail.”

Permeating sadness overlaying enduring love.

This story left me with a sense of permeating sadness for a clean, pure love that was destroyed by life’s tragedies. The souls meeting and joining together at the end lend a sweetness to the storyline but that original sadness for love not only lost, but forgotten, remains.

Disappointing All Around

Being an avid original Star Trek lover for over 54 years; I’m highly sensitive to the correct
re-enactment of the original Enterprise Crew’s characters and characteristics. The major discrepancy and what kept pulling me out of the disjointed story-line was the depiction of Captain Kirk’s character in each situation. Following his unbelievable change in character, speech, reactionary scenes and interactions with “beloved” crew members, was Lieutenant Uhura. Her character was written so out of character as to be unprofessional and subordinate in her station.

The story-line itself was disjointed, did not flow nor did it reflect the team-work and camaraderie of the crew. Yes, they had a few rough spots but the scenes as written here, would have had all of them thrown out of Star Fleet.

Unfortunately, the narrators voice and attempted mimicry of Kirk in particular, was like the proverbial saying “like fingernails scraping down a chalkboard.” I had to stop and start the story over eight times to get through it.

This is the first poor review I’ve ever given here on audible. If you listen to it and love it, please do post about it here!
