Narration so bad I couldn't finish.
Revisado: 07-31-16
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I'd like a narrator who has heard the names of characters and places before and knows how to pronounce them correctly.
Would you recommend World of Warcraft: Stormrage to your friends? Why or why not?
No. Richard Ferrone constantly butchers names that any fan of the Warcraft universe would know how to pronounce even remotely correct. Plus, and this is a personal preference, but he has an irritating habit of constantly drawing out vowels in words. It's not an accent, it's just a weird quirk. And lastly I don't care for voice actors who try to do voices of characters that are clearly outside their range. A good voice actor/actress knows how to play the opposite sex without pitching their voice outside their natural range and thus sounding strained or forced. Richard doesn't seem to know how to do this, even partially.
What didn’t you like about Richard Ferrone’s performance?
Nearly everything.
Do you think World of Warcraft: Stormrage needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
I doubt it but I'm going to have to buy a physical copy or one for my kindle to get to the end. I'm not a huge fan or Knaak as his stuff is about exciting as any given wiki page but the story is probably complete in it's own right. This is the canon lore leading up to the Cataclysm expansion.
Any additional comments?
If you'd like a suggestion to contrast this book with, I'd recommend the new Illidan book by William King and narrated by Graeme Malcolm. Both the story and acting were exceptional and I really hope Blizzard gets both of them to do further works.

A solid story and delivery.
Revisado: 06-13-16
Would you listen to Warcraft: Durotan again? Why?
Not anytime soon but eventually. The book did a great job of helping the reader/listener understand the events and circumstances of Durotan's early chiefdom. Knowing the whole story of his life before hand didn't detract at all from the story.
Any additional comments?
Christie Golden's books are always a good read so it wasn't surprising to find myself really enjoying the story. I was a bit surprised to find myself enjoying Toby Longworth's performance. At first I was a bit annoyed by what I felt was a halting style of delivery. But after the first few chapters I had completely forgotten that and was completely into the story. My final conclusion is that the story doesn't quite fall into the 5 start category but is still a great addition to the Warcraft lore series.

Excellent story and anexcellent voice performance.
Revisado: 06-13-16
What did you love best about Illidan: World of Warcraft?
It was compelling and I couldn't stop listening almost from the very start.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Illidan of course. I've always hated that his story went south. He wasn't the ideal guy and didn't always have the best motivations but he did try to make things right when he learned the truth of the Burning Legion. I can't wait to see how this plays out in the next expansion and beyond. Also, please Blizzard, please have William King write more books. I was uncertain about a new author but have been bored with Knaak for a while. King is such a great story teller and a breath of fresh air. Please let him do more.
What does Graeme Malcolm bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He did a great job. He didn't try to pitch his voice to sound feminine or to do a voice that was outside of his natural range, which always annoys me with other voice actors. I felt the whole time as if I was just sitting and listening to a great story teller unraveling a tale. I loved every minute of his delivery.

In his provocative new book, evolutionary biologist Jerry A. Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Any additional comments?
The contents of the book are excellent, well reasoned, and based in sound logic. If a religious person was honestly inquiring of me as to why non believers reject religion and superstition this would be one of my top two recommendations. The downside is that the narration will easily put you to sleep if you aren't focused on what is being said. But don't let that detract you. The contents far and away outweigh any negative aspects of the audio version.

Excellent performance, slow and wandering story
Revisado: 12-29-13
If you could sum up On Stranger Tides in three words, what would they be?
Not terribly interesting.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
The ending wasn't that surprising or interesting, much like the rest of the book.
Have you listened to any of Bronson Pinchot’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Not quite Jim Dale but close. Pinchot did a wonderful job with the various voices, moving between them effortlessly and in quite a believable manner.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
No
Any additional comments?
If you are looking for something remotely similar to the pirates movie, On Stranger Tides, you will be disappointed. Except for mentioning the fountain of youth and Black Beard, there are really no similarities. How the Pirates of the Caribbean movie was based on this I haven't the foggiest. Also, the story wanders around a good deal without any big climax. There were a couple of small points when I thought that maybe the book was finally getting somewhere. Each time it turned out that it was just a slight up tick in the otherwise slow but not completely uninteresting story. Over all it's okay. I need to listen to more books in the genre I think for comparison but this isn't a must listen/read. I will however be looking for more books read by Bronson Pinchot. He did a really great job with the character's voices and I believe this book gets it's over all better rating in a large part to his performance.

Historia
You've either done it or know someone who has: the one-night stand, the familiar outcome of a night spent at a bar, sometimes the sole payoff for your friend's irritating wedding, or the only relief from a disastrous vacation. Often embarrassing and uncomfortable, occasionally outlandish, but most times just a necessary and irresistible evil, the one-night stand is a social rite as old as sex itself and as common as a bar stool.

Disapointing, I expected more based on the reviews
Revisado: 12-08-13
What would have made My Horizontal Life better?
A single funny or slightly sexy story.
What didn’t you like about Cassandra Campbell’s performance?
It was rote, unemotional, and almost as dry as the contents of the book itself.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Not really.
Any additional comments?
From the other comments I expected something funny, erotic and well written. This book contains none of the above... or any other positive traits for that matter. At least I got it on the $4.95 sale. If you love really bad reality TV, you may enjoy this. If you are looking for erotic stories of an adventurous and humorous lady, look elsewhere. She doesn't come across as white trash exactly but she just iterates over the worst of her life without bringing in any redeeming aspects. The book is a downhill read without ever coming up for air. It's not like a bad movie that's fun to watch because of how bad it is. Rather it becomes increasingly sad, embarrassing, and depressing straight through to the end, at which point her dad tells her she needs to write a book. Sadly, she took his advise.

When Navy SEAL Adam Brown woke up on March 17, 2010, he didn’t know he would die that night in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan - but he was ready: In a letter to his children, not meant to be seen unless the worst happened, he wrote, "I’m not afraid of anything that might happen to me on this earth, because I know no matter what, nothing can take my spirit from me."

Biography of an amazing man, very little SEAL info
Revisado: 07-03-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
As an unbeliever I found this book disappointing. This man was the embodiment of what it means to be a SEAL but this is a book about the life and faith of a man who also happened to be a SEAL and not much about his actual SEAL experiences. It is almost exclusively about his character, his troubled past and how his faith guided his life. The man was remarkable, no doubt about it, but if you are looking for a book about what SEAL training and life in the teams are all about, look elsewhere. If you want about how this man put his faith into practice, then you'll probably enjoy this book a great deal.
Would you be willing to try another book from Eric Blehm? Why or why not?
Possibly. I don't know if all the religiosity in this book comes exclusively from the story or if the author was using it to also further the cause of his own faith. If the latter then probably not.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Paul Michael?
No. He over dramatized this story and his imitation of other people's voices is terrible. He has a good voice when he's not trying speak in other people's tones. When he does that, he is 3rd rate at best. His female voices were the worst.
Was Fearless worth the listening time?
Eh, it was ok. Not a strong SEAL story. I really enjoy the details of what it takes to become a SEAL and then what their lives are like, what they do and how they do it. There was almost none of that here.

Historia
Four US Navy SEALS departed one clear night in early July 2005 for the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border for a reconnaissance mission. Their task was to document the activity of an al Qaeda leader rumored to have a small army in a Taliban stronghold. Five days later, only one of those Navy SEALS made it out alive. This is the story of the only survivor of Operation Redwing, SEAL team leader Marcus Luttrell, and the extraordinary firefight that led to the largest loss of life in American Navy SEAL history.

Overly dramatized voice acting and overt politics
Revisado: 07-01-13
What did you like best about Lone Survivor? What did you like least?
Best? Hard to say, I guess the general perspective any SEAL biography gives. Least? Everything else. The voice actor is terrible. Completely over dramatizes the story. Because of this its hard to separate the reading from the content. The content did seem to focus an awful lot on the author's hard right wing agenda and less on the actual story. I love SEAL stories from all perspectives but please just stick to the story. Don't inundate me with your constant political criticisms to convince me that your personal views are right and all else is wrong. That's not story, that's being a pundit. Even on issues I would agree with him, it was really hard to listen to.
Would you be willing to try another one of Kevin Collins’s performances?
Absolutely not!
Did Lone Survivor inspire you to do anything?
No.
Any additional comments?
I love SEAL stories and biographies and I'll put up with just about anything to get the smallest scraps but I could not finish this book. I hate that because I've heard much about what a remarkable story Mr. Luttrell has to tell.
