About this listen

World-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck, in decades of research on achievement and success, has discovered a truly groundbreaking idea - the power of our mindset.

Dweck explains why it's not just our abilities and talent that bring us success but whether we approach them with a fixed or growth mindset. She makes clear why praising intelligence and ability doesn't foster self-esteem and lead to accomplishment but may actually jeopardise success. With the right mindset, we can motivate our kids and help them to raise their grades as well as reach our own goals - personal and professional. Dweck reveals what all great parents, teachers, CEOs and athletes already know: how a simple idea about the brain can create a love of learning and a resilience that is the basis of great accomplishment in every area.

good insights but a bit 1 sided

was a good read! some great tips. however it doesnt really look into the fixed mindset in any detail rather just gives it a bad name. I would have liked to see how using fixed thinking in certain areas can help as well as growth. overall good read but not much science behind the examples. I liked "Power of Habit" as it showed more practical and science backed approaches we can take.

Change in the way we think

Good book. A lot of examples that seem to go on for a while but I guess they set the premise of how changing your thinking can produce favourable outcomes. Could have been shorter but still a worthwhile listen
