About this listen

In this pause-resisting, poignant saga of love, loss, control and miscommunication, one woman treads a tightrope between marital loyalty and powerful maternal instincts.

Three husbands have tested Phyllis' aspirations of marriage and motherhood to the full, and now she faces a dilemma. If she accepts a fourth marriage proposal, might the consequences rock the turbulent path she already treads alongside her four offspring? Her decision could change her future and family dynamics forever.

Great story

The narrators voice echoes but once you preserve, it’s a great listen. It’s really shows how history can repeat itself.

A thoughtful book about real life

I enjoyed this - it made me think.
I liked the way it reflects real life and relationships - always changing, affecting each other in ways we can never really comprehend, making decisions that don’t turn out the way we hoped, yet moving onwards towards whatever future lies ahead, whilst carrying with us the ever-growing ball of moss we’ve collected along the way.
I liked the genuine way it was written - no simple cliches or lazy plot lines, and no unrealistic melodramas … just the “stuff” of life.

really enjoyable and realistic

Well told, plausible story and good narration. A sad reality for many wives. I found myself getting quite emotional throughout.
