Story

When your thoughts are in conflict, your results will be inconsistent at best, and failure will tend to win out over success.

Lots of stories that sound made up. The good tips could have been condensed to a 10 minute YouTube video. Speaking of which. It’s so dated. Too many references to cash , cheques and other outdated financial references.

Story
Many of the activities we take for granted are in fact contrary to a healthy lifestyle. In this groundbreaking audiobook, long-held beliefs are exploded by new science: drinking eight glasses a day is too much, breakfast isn't the most important meal of the day, smartphones are not making us all depressed. Bringing to bear the latest research in psychology, nutrition, biology and physics, Dr Stuart Farrimond unearths the facts behind the fads and provides take-away advice on every area of our lives.

Not much on routine

Loads of random tips on health but very little on building a routine and planning the day which I was hoping this book would do. Liked him on podcasts but a book full of this stuff I found dull.

Story
This audiobook is about pleasure. It's also about pain. Most importantly, it's about how to find the delicate balance between the two, and why now more than ever finding balance is essential. We're living in a time of unprecedented access to high-reward, high-dopamine stimuli: drugs, food, news, gambling, shopping, gaming, texting, sexting, Facebooking, Instagramming, YouTubing, tweeting. The increased numbers, variety and potency are staggering. The smartphone is the modern-day hypodermic needle, delivering digital dopamine 24/7 for a wired generation.

Didn’t learn much
Reviewed: 25-02-22
Started well but went off on waffle tangents about addiction and shame that didn’t seem to relate to the topic in hand. It felt like the author forgot to do the last couple of chapters. Should we reduce our time on the internet and video games? Wasn’t much call to action.

This is a motivational book indeed.
To motivate one to be a horrible human being. Full of anecdotes of people being murderous and conning others and these are held up as examples that we should follow.

Great but too long and too repetitive

Some very interesting and inspiring stories. But the format of the same small number of questions over and over became painful. A book half the size with the more helpful advice would be great.

Story
The latest groundbreaking tome from Tim Ferriss, the number-one New York Times best-selling author of The 4-Hour Workweek. For the last two years, I've interviewed more than 200 world-class performers for my podcast, The Tim Ferriss Show. The guests range from super celebs (Jamie Foxx, Arnold Schwarzenegger, etc.) and athletes (icons of powerlifting, gymnastics, surfing, etc.) to legendary Special Operations commanders and black-market biochemists. For most of my guests, it’s the first time they’ve agreed to a two-to-three-hour interview.
