Story
Far from healed, the Martensville Nightmare remains an open wound for those who lived through it. And yet for the rest of us, the history is all but lost — a symbol of the broader failure across the board to face the effects of the Satanic Panic head on or to learn its lessons. But, some surprising good did emerge out of all the pain.

A gripping story that is bizarrely relevant again in today’s world of Q. Excellent presentation. Highly recommended.

Story
Kim Darroch was British ambassador to the US as the age of Trump dawned and Brexit unfolded. One of the UK’s most experienced and respected diplomats, Darroch was given the task of explaining Trump to the British and Brexit to the Americans. Choosing to resign after his confidential cables criticising the Trump administration were leaked to the press, Darroch’s unvarnished, behind-the-scenes account reveals for the first time the inside story of this tumultuous time and reflects more broadly on Britain’s relationship with the United States.

Witty, engaging and interesting

I went for this one as I’m a sucker for anything related to Trump and his erratic thruthlessness. That part of this book is unsurprising and won’t tell you much you don’t already know, but there’s so much more to this book.
There are some great stories and insights in here and Darroch comes across as a charming and interesting character. I really enjoyed this one. Highly recommended.

Story
In this revelatory, authoritative portrait of Donald J. Trump and the toxic family that made him, Mary L. Trump, a trained clinical psychologist and Donald’s only niece, shines a bright light on the dark history of their family in order to explain how her uncle became the man who now threatens the world’s health, economic security and social fabric. Mary Trump spent much of her childhood in her grandparents’ large, imposing house in New York, where Donald and his four siblings grew up.

Exactly what you’d expect

I suspect this won’t win any converts but it’s
interesting all the same. There are no real surprises either but it’s intelligent, thoughtful, and likely truthful. If you were going to make things up to damage the president, it would’ve very easy to come up with a far more salacious and damning book that would still be believable. Another confirmation that he’s exactly who he appears to be. Enjoy.
