So long but spectacular
Reviewed: 12-01-21
The storys of sherlock holmes are brilliant both psychological and practical. On three or four of the cases I was able to think of how that was done or what that was done for. Great narration we"ll done but with how long this over seventy one hours having a female voice really would of helped for the female roles. Stephen fry did a absolutely brilliant job with all the voices putting in little details when he spoke making the characters come to life.

It"s a brilliant story from start to finish great narration but this is one story an female narrator would of been better for the female roles. Also I feel that Nolan (not going to try to spell the last name) C.E.O of IOI is abit too psychotic. he only wants to win no matter what the cost even killing innocent people like if IOI C.E.O. wasn"t trying to win the easter egg he"d be a serial killer? Maybe be its a warning of people like him always climbing over others if necessary to make it to the top not realising there already there.

It"s a great adventure absolutely fantastic. Andy serkis is absolutely a legend with all the voices particularly one he does so well and makes thuorn oaken shield sound like Sean bean and one can only guess why. Narration is fantastic. story great but with what gets added from watching and seeing the world of middle earth I feel only completes the great authors work and for this alone to me I say the movies are better.

Story
The first book of D Day Through German Eyes has fascinated listeners around the world with its insight into the German experience of June 6, 1944. Now, book 2 contains a completely different set of astonishing German testimonies from the same archive. These newly translated eyewitness statements by German veterans show the defenders to be determined but psychologically insecure, often deluded in their thinking, and all too human in their shock at the onslaught they faced.

Story
Almost all accounts of D-Day are told from the Allied perspective, with the emphasis on how German resistance was overcome on June 6, 1944. But what was it like to be a German soldier in the bunkers and gun emplacements of the Normandy coast, facing the onslaught of the mightiest seaborne invasion in history? What motivated the German defenders, what were their thought processes - and how did they fight from one strong point to another, among the dunes and fields, on that first cataclysmic day?
