James Hollis at his best

James Hollis has been a brilliant voice in the many discussions around mental health, and on the many questions on to how to navigate the uncertain journey of the second part of life. I admire all his writing till now, but this wise and compassionate book, and it’s elegant delivery, is nothing short of superb.

The book shows how we may travel this Middle Passage consciously, thereby rendering our lives more meaningful and the second half of life immeasurably richer.

Excellent book and still as urgent and relevant as ever. James Hollis’s entire bibliography is worth looking into as the different books help analyse different aspects of our journey. This one, his first, is a classic and sets the high standard for his later work.

A deeply inspiring, troubling, and wonderful book. I missed James Hollis’s voice though, but all the details, wit, and wisdom are there in the words.
