The narration is quite simply unbearable. On top of that, after having listened to Devra Lehmann - Spinoza, this one seems disorganised, uninteresting and dull.

A well written, well read, compassionate biography of Menhaden Begin. It has given me a much more nuanced appreciation of the man and his times. Very moving.

The translation is very good but as an audiobook experience, sanctimonious Ballerini totally ruins the experience for me.

This biography seems to have been written with a spirit of impartiality and a great amount of work and research. It gives a good insight into the formative years of the state of Israel and I cannot but admire the strength, generosity, bravery and determination of the people involved. Golda Meir bore a fair amount of the weight on her very capable shoulders. Admirable

This is a fascinating interview. Florence BERGEAUD-BLACKLER has dedicated her life to investigate this subject and what she has to say interests us all, now more than ever.

I suppose being there and allowing oneself the time and space to imbibe your surroundings that way must’ve been quite something. But getting it secondhand in pedestrian prose turns out a real bore. Zero stars for me.

I am saying that this book is dishonest, because the author seems more concerned with appearing a know-it-all than with transmitting clear and useful knowledge about composting. And as a direct result of this, the book is misleading and confusing, as he does not hesitate to state half truths and to be controversial for the sake of it.
to top it all up, the narrator speaks as if he had something in his mouth, which makes it most unpleasant to listen to.

Shame, this is one book that I will have to read instead of listen to which I would have preferred. Roger Clark kills it for me.
