I’m not sure how I feel about this book. The storyline and characters are odd and it was a strange read. The book delivers a wide variety of approaches to grief and loss and whilst it was warm, it lacked real emotional connection.

I loved Moira, Carol"s mother, who is organised, opinionated and every so slightly interfering.

Despite the sadness of the situation, I found this an easy read, (listen) but a bit far fetched.

Loved Graham Norton narrating.

What an absolutely delightful read. It"s not my usual type of read and I throughly enjoyed the escape from everyday life and to life of the penguins. The characters were all intriguing and quirky. Highly recommend you give this one a read.

I listened to this one via Audible. 10 and a half hours done in 3 days as I just couldn"t stop listening to it.

This is the first book that I have read (listened to actually) by this Author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This book was originally published as four short stories and has been put together into the one. Hepburn takes us through a year at the Little Monkham pub with the ups and downs of the two sisters and some other fantastic characters. I enjoyed this so much that I have already purchased the follow-up book, Last Orders at the Star and Sixpence and I will let you know what I think of that when finished.
