Story
Anna Walsh had a dream life - according to everybody else. She lived in New York, had a long-term boyfriend, and had The Best Job In The World working as a highly successful beauty PR. So why did she decide to take a flamethrower to the lot? Because now she"s back Dublin, living with her parents. She"s undeniably forty-eight, with no partner, no job, and no direction. Anna"s lost her purpose. She needs a new challenge to help her fall back in love with life again. When an opportunity arises to solve a PR crisis in the tiny town of Maumtully, Anna leaps at the chance.

I stopped listening halfway through . Very repetitive and became so boring. I lost interest in the story and the characters.

Fascinating

Insightful, factual and brilliantly narrated. I could not stop listening to this account of the Yorkshire ripper investigation. A full record detailing the poor victims and the impact on their families, the police search, scientific evidence, psychologist reports and the man himself, without the usual tabloid sensationalism.

Story
In 1985, Peter Everett landed the job as Superintendent of Southwark Mortuary. In just six years he’d gone from lowly assistant to running the UK’s busiest murder morgue. He couldn’t believe his luck. What he didn’t know was that Southwark, operating in near-Victorian conditions, was a hotbed of corruption. Attendants stole from the dead, funeral homes paid bribes, and there was a lively trade in stolen body parts and recycled coffins. Set in the fascinating pre-DNA and psychological profiling years of 1985-87, this memoir tells a gripping and gruesome tale.

What a great listen. Loved the accent of the narrator as it added to the down to earth , no nonsense feel of the book. Not morbid at all and weirdly quite entertaining and even funny in some parts. I couldn’t stop listening .

Story
Fran finds her standing by the swings. A little girl, Esther, no older than seven years old, by herself in the dead of night, her pretty but old-fashioned yellow dress covered in grass stains and her hair dishevelled. She says she"s waiting for Father, and that strikes Fran as particularly odd. After Esther is reunited with her family, Fran can"t stop thinking about this pious child whose imaginary friend is God. Fran"s instincts tell her something is very wrong. Why does Esther keep running away from home, and how did she get that bruise on her leg?

Sadly I didn’t like anything about this listen . I couldn’t empathise with any of the characters and the plot was so far fetched I was actually rolling my eyes at times. The narrators voice really grated on me too. I was glad when it finished so I could get on with my next audible purchase.
