A winter storm has buried North Dakota in snow and ice. With accidents being reported across the region, Deputy Ron Weller must patrol along the main road through a normally tranquil forest in Beeman County. The night grows menacing as he discovers vehicles that have been run off the road, their drivers mysteriously missing. Strange tracks lead through a region of thick forest known as Devil's Rock. Story
A series of violent shark attacks off the shores of northern California draw the attention of pessimistic Detective Luke Jansen. Despite reports of shark sightings, the injuries are more reminiscent of a chainsaw-wielding maniac. Things get stranger when marine biologist Elise Sheldon encounters the creature. Exhausted and traumatized, her claims that the beast is a Helicoprion are dismissed. With little help from the police department, Luke and Elise form an unlikely alliance that puts them face-to-face with a violent man-eating shark, and its terrifying reason for existing.

Luis 'Lue' Elizondo is a former senior intelligence official and special agent who was recruited into a strange and highly sensitive US Government program to investigate UAP incursions into sensitive military installations and air space. To accomplish his mission, Elizondo had to rely on decades of experience gained working some of America's most sensitive and classified programs. Even then, he was not prepared for what he would learn, and the truth about the government's long shadowy involvement in UAP investigations, and the lengths officials would take to keep them a secret.

Nothing New!
Reviewed: 10-09-24
For me the author revealed nothing new regarding the issue. Pretty much everything he said has appeared else where on the internet or congressional hearings. As a biography of the author it is good, as he talks and talks about his achievements blah blah. I’m afraid I could not make it to the end of the book and returned it. Obviously is my opinion and you may love this title, but it was not what I expected and for me it fell far short.

Narration is bad!!!
Reviewed: 15-03-24
Having listened to numerous of the St Mary’s books, I have got used to the Bristolian accented Markham. The narrator for this short story just about killed this image. Having said that, I suppose it is subjective. For me though it just ruined the story.

This is a great listen and the narration is very good, except when the female narrator attempts to ‘do’ a male voice! It is bad to the point of being distracting from the story.

Story
Years ago, the SS Arcadia vanished without a trace during a routine voyage. Though a garbled emergency message was broadcast, neither the ship nor any of its crew could be found. Sixty years later, its wreck has finally been discovered more than 300 miles from its intended course...a silent graveyard deep beneath the ocean's surface. Cove and her dive team have been granted permission to explore the Arcadia's rusting hull. Their purpose is straightforward: examine the wreck, film everything, and, if possible, uncover how and why the supposedly unsinkable ship vanished.

Story
Refuge, New Hampshire, is a small town. The kind found on postcards. Their biggest concern is the rowdy summertime revelers making their way up from Massachusetts and New York. And with most of the town's residents in neighboring Ashland, for the Fourth of July fireworks show, Refuge is quieter than usual. That is, until the Baptist church's bell starts ringing - on its own. The bell chimes faster and faster, reaching a frenetic pace, as though rung by the Devil himself. But the bell is just the beginning.

This series of books are well worth a listen for someone looking for action, adventure and a bit of gore. However, do not expect twists and turns as it is a pretty straightforward plot. That having been said, I enjoyed listening to it and will never listen to the ringing of a church bell in the same way again!!! BONG!!
