Story
Kian Walker has always been the golden boy of motor sport. The four-time Championship winner has racing in his DNA – his father was a legend on the track, just don’t let him catch you comparing the two. As reckless and unreliable at home as he was behind the wheel, there’s nothing Kian wants less than to be just like his dad. Enter Harper James. This year’s rookie called up to compete with the big boys – and Kian’s new teammate. Cocky, hot-headed and with a reputation for breaking as many hearts as he does new track records, Harper’s the opposite of Kian in every way.

A lovely story with complex yet relatable characters. Some parts where the voice actors were very quiet so had to rewind as missed certain lines

Story
From the outside, the prosecution"s case looked bulletproof, but Marcia Clark knew better. Mountains of physical evidence connected O. J. Simpson to the murders of Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman, but that didn"t mean it would be easy. For the woman charged with prosecuting the "Trial of the Century", the light of fame would glow white hot, as the media scrutinized her strategy, her family, even her hair. As the case spun out of control, Marcia Clark stood tall.

Any additional comments?
I came here after being one of the many millennials to experience the trial of O.J. Simpson for the first time through the FX mini-series; American Crime Story: The People vs O.J. Simpson. My reasoning for choosing this book is because of the way in which Marcia Clark was portrayed and treated in the show, I wanted to learn more about her and her story, what better way to do so than to experience her book read aloud in her own voice. This book was an excellent memoir detailing the trials and tribulations (quite literally) of Marcia"s life, both during the O.J. circus and in her life leading up to it. That being said, this book is not entirely what I was expecting. I came to this book with the idea that it would be a scathing, 10 chapter rant about the so called "Dream Team", the media, Judge Ito and the jury, although there were aspects of my assumptions present in her work, Marcia chose to talk openly about how the trial effected her emotionally and physically, personally and professionally. Far from the stone cold bitch she appears when on a roll in the courtroom, Marcia showed herself to be a warm and humble person, a feat that must have been incredibly difficult coming off a time where every aspect of her appearance, personality and behaviour was scrutinised on every news stand across the USA.If you"re old enough to remember watching the trial, prepare to relive the experience through the eyes of one of the key players. If, like myself, you"re a millennial coming from The People vs O.J, prepare to experience a deeper and unrestricted insight to the backstage happenings of the trial. If you"re one of the people who was sceptical or judgmental of any aspect of Marcia Clark, prepare to feel a pang of guilt at your young, uninformed and misguided views.
