Very Good Welsh Accent.
Reviewed: 22-11-24
The narrator was very good the accent was true to the Swansea area.
The story involved areas not so often explored as with Ffion losing her husband young, and her sister struggling to cope with her hectic life and her husband not being much help.

Karen Cass Narrator
Reviewed: 29-04-24
I've listened to quite a few books narrated by Karen Cass and her main voice for male characters is always the same, this ends up with most of the men in the story sounding young and posh.
The story is good and followed on nicely from Book 1.

It's refreshingly different. As I listened, I was pleased to find the Welsh words spoken so well. The storyline was well written it was easy to follow what had happened to Nan but without any descriptions of the abuse.
Having been to Anglesey several times, I can picture the settings, including Bangor and its university.
I look forward to the next book now.

Cathy Sharp writes a good story and I have listened to several narrated by Antonia Beamish. This one though I found her narration poor, with pauses in the wrong places and an unconvincing attempt at the Canadian accent and slow drawl. I continued because from the first page I was drawn to the storyline.

Too much sex
Reviewed: 20-11-23
I thought that the idea was good although predictable.
For a lighthearted Christmas romance, I felt there was too much description of the main characters having sex and no rating like on a dvd.

I enjoyed the story, which moved on quite quickly. The idea was a little bit different, which made it more interesting.
The narrator had a good voice but had an annoying habit of announcing the next chapter without leaving a pause after the last word of the previous one.

Another lovely story by Anna Jacobs. Anna's books make easy listening and whilst often predictable are books I always enjoy.
The narrator was good but often some of the men sounded like women which was a bit confusing. The sound was fading at times even though my device was on full volume. I'm always listening to Audiobooks so this was unusual.
