It was ok
Reviewed: 28-12-24
It was ok.. i had to have a mid-listen break. I felt it was trying to be a bit too “funny” for my liking, normally I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Lori Prince but I found it all a bit cringy.
It was all a bit smooth sailing for my liking, found I wasn’t too bothered to find out how it ended, but finished it anyway.
I don’t think this author is for me, but if you enjoy something lighthearted and easy to listen to, it could be right up your alley.

The ending 😱
Reviewed: 17-12-24
I absolutely loved it but that ending 😱 I would say I can’t believe it, but I can..I just think I’ve listened to too many romance stories! Didn’t want it to end..for multiple reasons!
Characters were great..I liked that there were a few familiar “faces” and characters references from previous stories.
Abby Craydon is amazing, but struggled a bit with the UK dialogues (I’m from the UK and I couldn’t do them!) similar to the characters in the senator’s wife..but that didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed it.
Think I need a few days now to recover and take it all in, or maybe something a bit more lighthearted.

A cliffhanger with no part 2 yet
Reviewed: 04-11-24
If I’m honest it wasn’t my favourite book by these authors, I think maybe because there were so many main characters I didn’t feel particularly close to them. I wasn’t hooked on this one, but will probably listen to part 2 if there is one because it definitely ended on a cliffhanger! Nothing was resolved!
Narration by both Lori and Marisa was brilliant as always!

Story
When Remy's grandmother dies, it means leaving her life in San Francisco and returning to a town she swore she'd never revisit, forced to confront a world she'd worked hard to put behind her over the last twelve years. She's not expecting that the first girl to ever steal her heart, the pretty, popular Fallon Lewis, is still around, and in a town this small, their paths continue to cross, much to Remy's dismay. It's hard enough seeing her first love, but it's exponentially more difficult when she can barely stand to look at the woman.

Another really good book by Monica McCallan! Enjoyed the story and the characters (although it annoyed me a little bit how much they said the blonde/brunette to describe them! I’ve never notice that in a book before)
Excellent narration by Lori Prince as always.
Defo worth a listen!

Story
Flood waters aren't the only dangerous current in the Rockies—Riley Robinson's attraction to the just-passing-through Ana Potrero is immediate and mutual. Some wine, some laughs, some passion—and no strings. Perfect, right? When Ana proves to be far more complicated, amusing, and appealing than one night could ever fully explore, Riley can't believe she let Ana slip through her fingers. A second chance brings all the intense pleasures of their first encounter, but the realities of dating, distance, ex-lovers, and family could turn sweet, sweet wine into bitter dregs.

Not my usual book type but really enjoyed
Reviewed: 02-10-24
I’d say my typical go to would be a sapphic romantic easy going book, and this book had elements of that, but was really well written and had you thinking and covered some pretty hard hitting subjects.
Characters were really well written (although they could have given them easy names to try remember 🤣)
I know nothing about art or fashion, but overall really enjoyed the book and the narration was excellent as always by Abby.
Would recommend and will look for more books by this author.

Normally love Harper Bliss books but this one just wasn’t for me. Maybe I just couldn’t relate to the whole big age gap thing and I didn’t find the characters particularly likeable. The narrator wasn’t for me either. I know they’re British but I feel like all the character voices were very similar apart from Jeff. Managed to get through it but wasn’t overly hooked. Oh well..onto the next!

Story
Sutton Spencer's ideas for her life were fairly simple: finish graduate school and fall in love. It would be a lot simpler if she could pinpoint exactly what she should do when she graduates in less than a year. Oh, and if she could figure out how to talk to a woman without feeling like a total mess, that would be great, too. Charlotte Thompson is very much the opposite.
