Return of the Deep Ones is another fantastic collection of Cthulhu Mythos tales written by horror grandmaster Brian Lumley. Some of these stories are available in other audiobooks, so it's worth checking out the contents before picking this up. This collection is perfect for those new to Lumley's take on the mythos and established fans.
Lord of the Worms is one of Lumley's best stories, but Beneath the Moors and Return of the Deep Ones are both top-level horror tales, too.
Joshua Saxon is once again perfect for these stories. His delivery is faultless. I know I'll definitely return to these expertly told stories in the future.
Highly recommended.

Wesley Southard is the best thing to happen to horror fiction in years. Any new release is an instant purchase for me.
Try Again is another winner. It has a great premise that feels a bit like a cross between Groundhog Day and Triangle. The writing is typically superb and grabs you from the first page. Southard is also brilliant at creating believable and relatable characters.
I really enjoyed Mikaela Del Ray's narration. She reads the book beautifully and does a great job with characterisations.
I recommend Mr Southard's work to anyone with an interest in modern horror. I'm already looking forward to what he releases next.

Soulstorm is another brilliant horror novel from the extremely underrated Chet Williamson. I genuinely believe his work in the 80s and 90s is as good as the work that was being done by Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and James Herbert.
Highly recommended.

Wow! What can I say about this wonderful book? I LOVED every minute of Second Chance. I was already aware that Chet Williamson is an extremely talented writer, having previously enjoyed the audiobooks of Lowland Rider and the horror masterpiece that is Ash Wednesday, but I was genuinely surprised at how good this book was. The writing flows beautifully, there are many suspenseful moments, and the characters are full of life.
Second Chance is one of the best audiobooks I've ever listened to, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a suspenseful, nostalgic, time-travel thriller.

The Exorcist's House is one of those great horror novels they don't seem to make much anymore. It definitely reminded me of the classic books I used to read as a teen by horror legends like Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and James Herbert. It gets straight into the action and never lets up without ever feeling rushed. The characters are really well written, and there are some genuinely creepy moments. There were a few occasions when I actually rewound a scene because the events were so surprising that I wanted to experience them again.
I really enjoyed Spencer Dillehay's narration. He did a great job differentiating the characters and kept the right tone perfectly in the dramatic moments without ever overdoing it.
I really enjoyed this audiobook, and I'll definitely be checking out more of Nick Roberts' work.

While I enjoyed listening to this audiobook, it's definitely the weakest Thomas Sullivan book I've read so far. He's a brilliant writer, and the prose in this tale is typically beautiful, but the story isn't quite strong enough. I would highly recommend Case White and The Martyring to anyone intersted in his work. This is probably just for Sullivan completists only.
The narration was superb. Nick Sullivan was pitch-perfect throughout. I'd happily listen to any books he works on.

The Perfect Introduction to Lumley's Mythos Tales

This collection contains four excellent Cthulhu Mythos stories written by horror grand master Brian Lumley. Lord of the Worms & Born of the Winds are easily two of Lumley's best ever works in that universe, and the other two are also really strong. This makes Earth, Air, Fire & Water a great introduction to Lumley's work for new readers.
Once again, Joshua Saxon excels with his narration. He is the best Lumley narrator and my absolute favourite audiobook narrator.
Another excellent presentation from Crossroad Press.

I read Deeper Than Hell back in July and was so impressed by it I decided to revisit it in audiobook. The story grips you from the outset and doesn't let up until the glorious finale.
I can't really compare it to any another book because it's unlike anything I've read before, but the closest comparison would be if Clive Barker wrote Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas while working for Fortean Times.
I really enjoyed Adam Blanford's narration. He does a wonderful job differentiating all of the characters. There is also a likeability and vulnerability to his performance of Sonny.
Deeper Than Hell is easily my favourite book of the year and Joshua Millican is a fantastic writer. I'm already looking forward to what he comes up with next.
Highly recommended.

I've read most of these fantastic stories before but it was great to revisit them in audiobook form. Brian Lumley is a brilliant writer and the Titus Crow series is where I first discovered his work. I'd recommend this audiobook to anyone who enjoys occult horror and tales from the Cthulhu mythos.
Simon Vance is one of the best audiobook narrators. He's definitely suited to the style of these tales.
Another winner from Crossroad Press.

Engines of Ruin is a very enjoyable collection of short horror stories. There are lots of creepy moments and some interesting characters. Lucas Mangum is a very good writer but I have a feeling that his best work is still to come.
Sean Duregger is a great narrator. I've listened to a few of his audiobooks and I've enjoyed each one.
