I really hope Evan will revisit the series in the future, but as a trilogy it ends very nicely, with potential left open for future books, so you can be happy that you"ll not be left frustrated by an unclosed ending.
This is excactly the series I needed in my life, Superhero"s with a touch of Alien sci-fi, I can happily say this is one of my all time favourite series and will now have me listening into more of Evan"s book series.

For years, the alien Klikiss robots have pretended to be humanity"s friends, but their seeming "help" allowed them to plant an insidious Trojan Horse throughout the Earth Defense Forces. Now, in the aftermath of a devastating war, swarms of ancient black robots built by the lost insectoid Klikiss race continue their depredations on helpless worlds with stolen and heavily armed Earth battleships.

We went from first seeing the Faeros as protectors who stopped some ships from being radiated in a solar flare, to then helping turn the tide of the war against the Hydrogues as the good guys. Now we"re expected to just accept they"re evil and ruthless and suddenly want to kill everyone.
Sorry but the story for me has went down hill since the Hydrogue war concluded, you should have just ended the series then.

Story
The Solarian League"s navy counts its superdreadnoughts by the thousands. Not even its own government knows how enormous its economy truly is. And for hundreds of years, the League has borne the banner of human civilization, been the ideal to which humanity aspires in its diaspora across the galaxy. But the bureaucrats known as the "Mandarins," who rule today"s League, are not the men and women who founded it so long ago. They are corrupt, venal, accountable to no one...and they"ve decided the upstart Star Kingdom of Manticore must be destroyed.

6 year wait for this?
Reviewed: 20-04-23
Narrator performance was top notch as usual, sadly the book is 95% filler, 5% interesting content.
Felt the author just gave up after a 6 year break. Gone was the edge of your seat reading and excitement of previous books. There was even one scene that would have been a great chapter in its own, instead the author opted for a 3rd party report on what happened, then chapters of discussion from all involved parties around it.
Sorry Mr Weber, but you let the legacy end on a sour note for me.

The galaxy itself must choose to live free or die - and if the tyrants win this battle, darkness will fall across the galaxy for millennia to come.

16hr audio book which doesn"t actually start until chapter 27, when something which isn"t the cultural differences between North and South America isn"t being discussed.
Mark Boyett does an amazing job as usual. For the end of a trilogy though this is a big disappointment. The ending doesn’t really close off the story, it’s left to your imagination as to what could happen next for the human race, and not in a good way. Wasting the first 26 chapters on the authors views of cultural differences, which plays no part in the rest of the book is a complete waste of people’s time.
A real shame as it was a great series of books until the last.
I"ve never written a negative review to date, but felt compelled to do so for this one.

It takes a lot for me not to enjoy a sci-fi book, but this truly felt like the entire book could have been condensed into a few hours instead or the almost 14 hours it took, to find a spaceship and return it to earth.
For all that actually happened in the first book, I"ll just read the future titles book summaries to get the idea of the rest of what happens.
Sadly all the filler was simply uninteresting.
Narrator was good, no issue there, just a dull story.

The Terran Menace, is one of those gripping stories you can"t put down and are desperate to find out what will happen next. Paul Heitsch does an amazing job on narration, the reason I picked up the book in the first place was because I knew he"d do a great job bringing it to life.
Looking forward to more Mr Robertson!

Brilliant as usual, but felt like we barely touched the surface on the main plotline, too much filler and not enough progress. I suspect the next book will conclude the end of this one"s storyline, but with the amount of filler it would have been better wrapped into one book, specially with the gap in publishing between both.
