Story
Kian Walker has always been the golden boy of motor sport. The four-time Championship winner has racing in his DNA – his father was a legend on the track, just don’t let him catch you comparing the two. As reckless and unreliable at home as he was behind the wheel, there’s nothing Kian wants less than to be just like his dad. Enter Harper James. This year’s rookie called up to compete with the big boys – and Kian’s new teammate. Cocky, hot-headed and with a reputation for breaking as many hearts as he does new track records, Harper’s the opposite of Kian in every way.

I loved this story! I’m not all that interested in race car driving if I’m being honest and after buying the book I did think I’d be bored, however this story kept me interested the whole time and I enjoyed every minute of it. I loved both characters and teared up a few times when Harper spoke of his loneliness, very real.. I hope we get Johannes’s story one day I think it’ll be interesting.
Narration was easy to listen to, harpers voice was sometimes a little too quiet but nothing too bad. But I loved Kian’s voice, very nice to listen to.
I would 100% recommend this book, the first I haven’t dnf’d in a while.

I was hooked straight away. The characters were mostly likeable.
Screw Jakie, she was infuriating even if her character was only in the story very briefly.
I loved the story for the most part, but I really didn’t want the killer to be who it was. I think it was very predictable and I hate guessing the plot correctly, I want to be shocked. That’s why I couldn’t give the story 5 stars.
But the narrator was very easy to listen to and told the story well.

Story
Yami prefers to be known for her killer eyeliner, not for being one of the only Mexican kids at her new, mostly white, rich Catholic school - or for being gay. So after being outed by her ex-best friend, before transferring to Slayton Catholic, Yami decides to lie low, make her mum proud and definitely NOT fall in love. The thing is, it"s hard to fake being straight when Bo, the only openly queer girl at school, is so annoyingly perfect. And smart. And cute. So cute.

I enjoyed listening to this story very much. The characters are likeable and interesting.
Heartwarming and funny. There are some hard topics in this book, Homophobia, racism and suicidal ideation, however handled sensitively.
I enjoyed the narrator, her voice was very easy to listen to and somewhat reminiscent of Vanessa Hudgens. I would 100% recommend this book.

I enjoyed this story very much. It’s fast paced, humorous and heartwarming.
At times I found Scottie incredibly irritating and found her to be the mean girl, not Irene. But it only made her character that much more realistic.
Great narration, very easy to listen to and I loved it. Also loved the side characters, they were great.

I wasn’t too sure at first. I found Miriam incredibly insufferable. But then I somewhat became able to understand why she was the way that she was and at times actually found her strangely comical.
I liked the characters and found Ella to be very realistic.
It really makes you realise how innocent and easily led children are and how easy it is for them to be taken from you.
In the first few chapters I didn’t think I’d get emotional at this book, but I did shed a few tears in the last couple of chapters.
Would definitely recommend.

This book gets straight to the point which I was thankful for, too many books take way too much time getting into the actual story.
I found the story very emotional at times and it makes you think about the true horrors of what happens to kidnapped children every single day, even though this book does not delve into the details of what happened to Evan whilst he was missing.
At points I struggled to know who was speaking as I don’t think the narrator is the best at men’s voices, though I did find her voice soothing and easy to listen to.

I did not expect Gideon’s story to be my favourite of the series but it definitely was.
The humour and the banter between him and Eli was very enjoyable.
I loved that the guys from the other books were once again in this book also.
Hated the manager!
Also the epilogue was adorable. And as always Joel Leslie’s narration was great.

With the lack of reviews I assumed this wasn’t going to be all that good, but I have to say this was an amazing listen. It usually takes me a day or two to get through an audiobook but I couldn’t stop listening.
This was an easy listen and was very sweet. I loved how flirty the two mc’s were towards each other and i loved James’ family, even his insane mother 😂. This is a very heartwarming story, if you want something light and funny this is the story for you.

Loved it, but it did give ‘Angus, thongs and perfect snogging’ at times
Reviewed: 12-03-24
Like my title says, this story did remind me of another story at times. Jay was at times infuriating, selfish and at sometimes it felt like he was a lot younger than 18, especially with the constant need to say ‘frack’, a word I never want to hear again in all honesty especially when the same character saying that word is also talking about having sex, it was a weird contrast.
However I did love this story, Jay did have character development throughout and I loved all the other characters too.
There was some fun drama and a little angst which is always fun.
It may not be to everyone’s taste but I would recommend you to give it a chance, it is very wholesome at times.
