Story
Clayton Sanders left home the minute he had his high school diploma in hand. He waited that long only because the Army wouldn't accept him without one. Now, 10 years later, he's home. Home with no warning, no advance notice, no anything after being gone 10 years with almost no contact with his family.

Story
The Source, the natural wellspring of Magic in the world, is stretched to the breaking point. If gluttonous witchcraft and human usurpers are not curtailed, it will vanish from the Nine Realms, taking with it every legendary race, and the magical sway of all that is good in the world will disappear forever. Before that end, the gods themselves will wage a final destructive war on Creation. The quest to save Magic at all costs is at hand, and an ancient prophesy awakens.

When Tammy Gleason received a frantic phone call from her father, that was all it took to put her on the road home to Fort Bragg from Memphis, Tennessee, trying to outrun a disaster. On her way out of town, she befriends a young man whose only name is Ringo and who just might be a little bit more than he seems.

Story
Its Thanksgiving on the Sanders Farm. Clayton Sanders and his collection of friends, family, and even a few strangers have managed to keep themselves moderately safe in a vicious new world, brought about by the most massive Coronal Mass Ejection ever seen or recorded. Anything electrical and not protected from the surge of power has been completely fried. Most cars won’t start, the electrical grid has crashed, people with pacemakers in their chests have dropped dead in their tracks, the list goes on and on of things and lives destroyed by an electrical storm.

Look, I like the series so I'll always favour a new book. It's easy listening and capturing. All I will say, there were a few audio problems in this book. Some things slipped past the proof listeners. Still, it didn't take away from the story and didn't bother me enough to knock stars off. Thanks N C Reed.

This is ridiculous. I mean seriously. I work for years, since I was in high school for crap’s sake, to be prepared for any emergency, anytime. I study, I train, I keep up with the news. I look for new products, I scour the web for suggestions about things I should always have on hand. I took training courses.

So far, the Apocalypse has not gone according to plan. At least, not according to the plan Clay Sanders and his friends had laid out. Things are finally changing, though for better or worse remains to be seen. Clay has agreed to offer what assistance the farm can spare to aid Captain Adcock and his National Guard contingent, hoping their presence will help bring order to the area.

I love the fact N C Reed goes into the nitty gritty of what we would imagine life would be like post breakdown. I'm not sure people realise just how hard life will be when SHTF, and that image is painted rather well in this book series. I loved Odd Billy Todd, fire from the sky is a much more detailed version of that.

Story
The Aftermath of a stunning victory—especially an unexpected, complete, and final victory—should be high-fives all around, listening to politicians give boring congratulatory speeches, and a well-deserved rest for the Merry Band of Pirates. Yes, the galaxy is still a freakin' mess, but that is nothing new, and for a change, that can be someone else's problem. Until, you know, something really bad happens, and only the Pirates can deal with the problem... Or not.

Story
As the new owner of the worst business in history, Jack has a lot on his plate. His self-appointed “biggest fan” wants to finally meet, and won’t take no for an answer. The annoying cultists are back and cultier than ever. Plus, there’s a creature living under the building's crawlspace that must be fed regularly (or else). To top it all off, the entire town’s collective memories have been haphazardly rewritten, and Jack's placement in these recollections are decidedly unflattering.
