Five stars as you would expect from Faith Hunter

If you haven't read books one and two of the Soulwood Series don't read this one first. This is an excellent continuation to the series. Strong characters and a reasonably complex story line.
Nell Ingram and her PsyLED - the Homeland Security division colleagues are called in when a powerful senator and his extended family come under attack. Complex and malevolent baddies who dealt justice in a Faith Hunter way. Nell's side love story goes though many trials and tribulations.
I love the fact that there is a side comment about something that is happening to Jane Yellowrock and Leo Pellissier, Vampire Master of the City Obviously something we will read about in book 12 of the Jane Yellowrock series - can't wait!!

First class story and characters as always.

Long, Interesting, not Brilliant - 4 Planes Crash

Strange book about Four planes that crash on the same day in different parts of the world and the conspiracies and intrigue that the world creates and the damage the aftermath causes.

We follow an investigative author who is compiling a book regarding the events including interviews, medical reports etc. This book was rather like a car crash you know you shouldn't watch but you can't tear your eyes away. The book follows the three or possibly four crash survivors, to find out if they are good or evil. Quite strong characters but a complex and unsatisfying ending.

Did I enjoy the book? - not really. Would I read it again? no I don't think I will.

If you read book one then you don't need to read this one. This story follows the sister of the female character in book one and the brother of the male character.
Same story turned round and round and a slightly different ending - the one opposite to the ending in book one.

I found it bland - not worth it;s credit.

I love Nora when she writes as JD Robb. This is a good story, Nora shows an idyllic family living on a Montana Dude Ranch and the missing family member, who disappeared 25 years earlier.
I found Alice's story hard to read. The position she found herself in was a woman's worst fear. I expect you are intended to know, as I realised who Alice's son, was very early in thew story.
The narration was good - well worth it's credit

The story continues with Raven Black, Christian and Keystone. This time the story revolves around the trade in young babies/children who have been stolen from their parents.
Very well written as always, with fully fledged characters and a detailed story line.

Towards the end of the book there is a very emotional scene between Raven and her father and separate scene between Patrick and Shepherd. I am certain that the event between Patrick and Shepherd will be another book in due course.

The love between Raven and Christian is on and off as before but also progressing as it should.

I will be buying the next in the series when it becomes available.

We join the story as Elizabeth an obedient and compliant daughter finds her the teenage rebel and in one day changes the whole of her life forever. Colouring her hair, going to a night club and unintentionally watching someone murdered.
The feelings of rebellion and fear are very well described.
The story continues a few years later when Elizabeth has become Abigail still on the run and we follow her as she finds love with police chief Brooks Gleason.
I enjoyed the fact that the story ended correctly, in my opinion, with the nastys' getting their just deserts
Good story worth its credit.

I love Nora Roberts in her incarnation as JD Robb I have read more than 50 of her books I am now working my way though Nora Roberts writing. This is quite a short story by JDR standards and during the majority of the book there are only two characters. Liberty Stone and Caleb Hornblower. They are star-crossed lovers but of course love wins the day by the end of the story.
Good but not brilliant.

I have read the whole of the series and enjoyed them all but I found this one difficult.

I really enjoyed the book once the true story started but initially when Aden and Sidonie Reid meet I had to fast forward some of the sex scenes.

I found myself saying to the female character Sidonie Reid (Sid) 'don't you have any pride.' she virtually begged Aden for sex - it made me squirm. The section which included BDSM was present but not too intense.

The story in the second part of the book was excellent and the final chapter bodes well for the next in the series as it sound as if it will l involve Raphael and Cin, the two main characters from book one which was excellent.

This is a side shoot from the Blood Destiny series. We follow a new lady - this time it is Reah Desh. She has had a hard start in life as she comes from a large uncaring family.

As the story progress we meet Commander Aris (alias someone we already know from the Blood destiny series) sorry no name because it would be a spoiler.

We meet the usual enemy and the story progresses.

Approximately two-thirds through the story we meet most of the main character from the earlier series but they fit in very well, it not contrived.

The only negative is that (as I have mentioned in previous reviews of this author) I find her language style some what clumsy. If you can see past this, the story is very good indeed.

The final chapter made my heart ache and means I will be buying the next in the series as soon as it becomes available.
