I read the Kindle version of this story and became hooked by Dante and Jade's story so when I found it was now available in audio format I knew I just had to listen to it. Having loved the written version I did wonder if the narrators would be able to bring such complex and interesting characters to life, I need not have worried Michael Knight and Sadie Provost are excellent as Dante and Jade the chemistry between them as they narrate rivals that of Dante and Jade.

I enjoyed this first book in The Dark Mafia Prince of New York series, it was well written, a thrilling blend of romance and intrigue with characters who were very well-drawn. It tells the story of Jade and Dante who are such opposites but who can't seem to stay apart.

Dante is a Mafia Prince who is desperate to prove himself to his family, whilst Jade is a scientist Jade who is about to make a breakthrough in her research which will help many people. Their connection is strong he's utterly infatuated with Jade to the point of obsession, there is passion and chemistry but there's also deception and a breaking of trust. The storyline is thrilling with a good mix of romance, mafia and science but everything comes back to Jade and Dane's feelings for each other. their connection and chemistry are palpable and can not be denied.

I don't want to spoil the story for anyone so I'm not going to give spoilers what I will say is I was hooked by the storyline and am eager to listen to Ivory Crown (The Dark Mafia Prince of New York Book 2) the next instalment in the story. I have to know what happens next!

This fifth book in this series is something of a love story about Peyton and Nyle but their journey to their HEA is far from smooth or straightforward, it's a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs with lots of surprises when you least expect them. I don't want to say too much as I don't want to spoil the story for you but what I will say is I enjoyed this riveting action-filled, engaging read especially because it has two main characters who are just perfect together

The narration is performed by Michael Ferraiuolo who does an excellent job of bringing the story to life.

This book is by an author who is new to me, that said this book was one I found quite moving and sometimes heartbreaking, Eva has not only lost her mother and brother who were attacked by Rouge Wolves her father the Alpha has been different and now he has brought another woman into their home to take the place of her mother. Since the night her brought his new wife home her life has just gotten worse.

When it was time for her first shift she nearly lost her life but when her mates arrived things changed for the better, she felt safe for the first time she could remember. Her mates' love makes it possible for her to heal and become whole again.

This was a wonderfully enjoyable story of survival and eventual fulfilment. The story flows well and is smooth-flowing with great world-building, great chemistry and spice. I loved all the little surprises the author wove into their journey.

I didn't want to stop listening the story pulled me in and kept me invested, I so wanted to see if there would be a happy ending and I would recommend this book to all fans of shifter romance. The narration is performed by Christina Rose who does an excellent job of bringing the world and characters created by the author to life.

I did enjoy the story the world building and the descriptive writing of Felicity Brandon and Anna Quinn is excellent. This book, the first in a series, sets the scene about what happens when a ship is wrecked on the beach of an island inhabited solely by women.

There are six survivors of the wreck each one is injured and unconscious when found on the beach. The matriarch of the village instructs six of the women to take a male home and nurse them back to health.

This isn’t something that Hedda agrees with she would rather slit the throats of all six men, as far as she’s concerned the world would be a better place without men in it. She is a bitter and scorned woman who was married to the jarl of the village. He treated her badly never, accepted her for herself and made to feel totally unloved or and unworthy.

The men have left the village some having succumbed to an illness and died. The ones who didn’t die sailed away on a ship and never returned. Their fate is unknown, but they are assumed dead.

That was two years ago, and since then Hedda has taken the place of her husband and become a strong but bitter leader.

She is forced by her grandmother the matriarch of the village to take to her long house Elberg the leader of the shipwrecked men. She treats him badly. She even makes him beg for food and keeps him bound to her bed for six days. On the seventh day he manages to cut his bonds and their situation changes.

To find out how you will have to listen to this book yourself because I’m not telling What I will say is that I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book.

The narration by Gareth J Davies is very well done, he did a superb job of bringing the characters to life.

Myla was raised in the Blood Moon Pack where the alpha was eagerly awaiting her heat so she could be claimed by the pack and bred. But the pack females helped her escape before that happened. She ran until she couldn’t run anymore but was discovered close to the Hidden Creek Pack where two wolves recognised her as their fated mate.

The Alpha thinks she might be a spy and despite his wolf telling him otherwise hesitates to trust her. Thankfully Gamma Gentry and pack Betas Silas and Bowen manage to convince him to allow Myla to stay with them. But then the Hidden Creek pack is attacked, is it the Blood Moon Pack retaliating because she's there?

I liked the story but felt it needed twerking, there were missing pieces that could have been explained with a few more chapters that said there are some spicey scenes in their story.

Delilah James does a great job with the narration.

Difficult Choices

The “A Mortal Queen” series is exciting and different, and full of mystery, intrigue, action, adventure and romance all woven into an incredible series. This second book picks up from where the first one ended on a cliffhanger. I have to say I was under the impression that this was a two-book series, but unfortunately, it's not - and this book too finishes on a cliffhanger.

That said the characters are wonderfully well drawn and do evolve and grow as the story progresses. Kylin the main character in the story goes from being a human with a low sense of self-worth to being a strong and determined woman. A woman willing to fight for what she knows is right and for the people and family she loves. The Elven King believes that she is the mortal referred to in an ancient prophecy and so wants her to be his Queen. Malik, The Vampire King and Kylin were drawn to each other at first sight and Malik wants her as his Queen and then there is Raynel, the Werewolf King who also loves and wants her. She loves both The Vampire and The Werewolf and you wonder who she will choose or if she will be given a choice about her fate. Will the prophecy be fulfilled?

This is a story of good vs evil that draws you into Kylin's world as she questions what is the truth as opposed to what she and the majority have been made to believe and takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride full of unexpected plot twists full of danger and lots of angst. The story is told in the first person by Kylin and although it works well there were times during the story when I wanted to know what others, particularly Malik, were thinking too.

I love the many many magical creatures that make up this world mortals, elves, vampires, werewolves, a vampire/werewolf hybrid and an ancient witch. The author's descriptive writing style made everything seem so real but not realising that this book ended on a cliffhanger it also kept me listening far too late into the night desperate to know the outcome of Kaylin's story. I don't know what the author has planned for Kylin but I hope I don't have to wait too long to find out.

Juniper London's narration is excellent she does a wonderful job bringing the characters to life.

The story about Gertie (Sully to her guy friends) and Weaver is one that once I started listening to, I just had to finish.

The story has a little of the Romeo and Juliet feel to it in that two feuding families are living and working in a small fishing community close to the Canadian border. His family, the Tripps, seem to have the upper hand but they’re not completely above board while her family, the Sullivans, strive to make a living at a tough job but still within all the rules.

They met when she sneaked onto a yacht expecting to find his nephew Mark there to whom she had sent a sex pic that she wanted to delete from his phone before he saw it. Instead of Mark, she met Weaver an older grumpier man. But a man who knew what he wanted and he wanted her and for the first time in her life, she wanted a man.

Gertie had reached the ripe old age of 25 but was still a virgin who didn’t want to be a 26-year-old virgin something Weaver was happy to help her remedy.

Despite lots of family drama, lots of miscommunications and misunderstandings they manage to make their relationship work. I’m not going to go into details that would spoil the story for anyone else wanting to listen to it but what I will say is that their chemistry is hot and their love is deep and you can’t help but want them to succeed. With their families against them, will they be able to?

The story is written by Lily Valente, who also narrates the story along with Ryan West and together they do an incredible job and bring every nuance and emotion to the fore, I loved it. I look forward listening to the next book in the series when it becomes available on audio.

Taken by the Outlaw is a well-written fast-paced, steamy listen it's only about four hours long but every minute is packed with action and chemistry. The story takes the listener into the world of the Brothers of Chaos MC where Bowie is the President of the club. It tells his and Gwen's story It's a fast, hot and sexy listen.

Gwen's running from a ten-year abusive relationship when they meet as for Bowie he isn’t looking for a relationship either but when he sees Gwen in the office of a cheap motel he can sense that she’s hurting and is running from something or someone. Knowing this could bring trouble his way he doesn't care because he is immediately attracted to her.

You can't imagine two characters from such different worlds connecting the way they do but their connection and chemistry are palpable, undeniable and explosive, as for their passion well.... what can I say except have a long cool drink handy because you'll need one during their intense, hot and passionate sex scenes.

Neither of them expected this intense attraction or how fast things were moving for them and each wondered if such a quick and intense attraction would lead to a long-term relationship or if it would turn out to be just an enjoyable hot fling.

Although I enjoyed the storyline, as short as it was, it was made all the better by the narration of Christina Rose who brought every emotion to the fore and nailed the connection felt by Gwen and Bowie.

The Alpha Wolf’s Mate by Tory Richards is a great story which is wonderfully narrated by Christina Rose who manages to bring out every emotion in the story. I loved the connection between Serena and Connor the two main characters. Their story is told at a very good pace, which made was easy to immerse myself in.

It's not my first book in this series and I have to say I've enjoyed them all. This one tells Serena and Connor's story in such a way that I didn't want to stop listening.

Serena a wildlife veterinarian was on her way to the Savage Hills Wolf Sanctuary it's her dream job when her vehicle broke down but when she checked her phone she discovered that there was no signal, could things get any worse? But don't worry her bad luck soon turned into something else.

I liked Serena, there's more to her than you think at first she's a strong but sensitive character who deserves to be happy. Connor is the alpha of his pack he's strong and protective and Serena's mate. He has issues with his younger half-brother and saved Serena from him. I like that he is a smart strong alpha who has a brain and uses it and doesn't rely on strength alone.

The narration by Christina Rose brings added depth and brings out the emotion in the story

If you, like me, love fated mates shifter books with well-drawn characters, a strong female lead and a possessive overprotective male then you should love this story which has an amazing plot then this book is for you!

Samantha Abbott is a new author for me, this is the first book of hers I have enjoyed. In this story, she puts an interesting and different spin on shifters making it fun but also intense. Once I started listening to the wonderfully well-done narration of Christina Rose I was hooked and didn't want to stop listening to this wonderfully well-crafted story full of action, love, spice and magic.

I'm not going to give spoilers so I won't say more but what I will say is this will not be the last book of Samantha Abbott I listen to.
