Story
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Have to say found this a hard one to get into however glad I stayed with it and persevered because the story was brilliant. Found rather than as in the first few chapters hard to keep with it turned to could not put it down........... I would love to read more in the series if the author plans it......Police with more 'sight' than normal is a great idea :-)

Hits the right spots. Mixture of time travel and history which leaves you yearning for book 2 as so gripping. 'Max' is a easy likeable character and I can see this as a good series that could make it to film or TV easily.

Story
Gaby Mortimer is the woman who has it all. But everything changes when she finds a body on the common near her home. Because the evidence keeps leading back to her. And the police seem sure she's guilty.... Under Your Skin is an unpredictable, exquisitely twisty story, which proves that there are only three rules in life that mean anything: Assume nothing. Believe no one. Check everything.

Such a gripping book I listened all the way through in one sitting whilst poorly in bed. The story was gripping and the ending a surprise different to what I assumed it would be half way through. The narrator was very good and I will surely look out for more books by both the author and that read by this narrator :-)

The first Harry-Hole book
Reviewed: 01-12-13
I really liked this book and the character of Harry is well established with me the listener realising he is troubled and an alcoholic. He is teamed up with an aboriginal to solve the case of a murdered girl and this in fact leads to the discovery of more murders.
Wether new to Harry Hole or familiar with the later books, it is well worth a listen and I enjoyed the story wanting more at the end. I have downloaded the whole series now and are steadily working my way through them. This is well narated by Sean Barrett and I am glad to have read this book first as from what I have heard they get even better as the series goes along.
I would recomend this audiobook and gave it five stars throughout as it kept me glued to it till the end in near one sitting!

When a curvy woman in an expensive suit tries to hire him to kill her, his wolf senses insist that she is his mate. One kidnapping, a plethora of gunfights, a psychic coma, and two faked deaths later, Tony and Sue have new identities and are hiding in a community of Sazi shapeshifters. All seems well, until Sue begins to pull away from Tony and he realizes that if he can't be more open with her, he's going to lose her.

Story
Sue Quentin has reached the end of her rope - she's desperate, and there's only one way out. Her plan doesn't include falling for Tony, the mysterious hit man she hires. He listens when she speaks and somehow convinces her that maybe her problems aren't entirely insurmountable. He even thinks her little potbelly is sexy. So he's a werewolf - everyone has flaws! Sue enjoys being coddled by Tony, and, for his part, Tony likes the way Sue moans when he touches her. She begins to think she and Tony might have a shot at a future together, despite his unorthodox profession...and even though she doesn't know his real name.

David Jason's biography is one I know after just finishing it,that I will want to listen to again. A lovely book of one of our most loved actors who many of us grew up with on the TV. Had me laughing when mentioned had nailed leonard's shoes to the floor as a joke in the dressing room and moved at many parts especially hearing the poetry from the first 'guvner' Ronnie Barker, before he was given the same fond title when Ronnie retired.
Won't say anymore as don't want to spoil it for you.
A must listen.
