About this listen

The man the New York State attorney general credited with inspiring her prosecution of Donald Trump—New York Times number one best-selling author Michael Cohen—tells the behind-the-scenes story of what can happen to you—and what really happened to him—when a president who believes himself to be above the law decides to go after his critics....

When Michael Cohen's secret payoff to porn star Stormy Daniels on behalf of Donald Trump made Cohen look like a liability to the by-then-president of the United States, the end to their decade-long relationship came swiftly—with a knock on the door from the FBI. Soon, Cohen would find himself imprisoned—even though he had plenty of evidence to show he was innocent of most of the charges. Meanwhile, with the release of the Steele Dossier, Cohen also found himself battling endless news reports citing the dossier claims that he had clandestine dealings with Russia—reports that only mounted despite his exoneration by the Mueller Report.

In a story now being echoed in recent breaking news stories about IRS persecution of other Trump foes such as former FBI head James Comey and others, Cohen details—in his inimitable blunt language, with absolutely no holds barred and naming names—his attempt to clear his name and tell the truth about Donald Trump. Chillingly, he also makes clear what happens when you try to speak truth to power, and the power knows no bounds.

Very entertaining listen

I really enjoyed this breakdown of some of what has happened over the last few more years. You would do well to listen to it.

Cohen knows first hand information.

Michael Cohen knows the worst of Trump. Trump should be convicted for his crimes.

Fixer yes, Reforming also yes

This is an amazing book. Trump is scary as hell especially since he seems to attract sycophants like shit attracts flies.

Wish Michael Cohen Narrated

Decent book but the narrator is awful. Like really awful to the point I turned it off for another book more than once. Would have been so much better if Michael Cohen narrated it.

Had to Be Said.

Very brave book: laying it all out there for the world to see. He has done the time, made humble amends, and is trying desperately to warn the American people if they don't listen and act, democracy and the illusion of freedom will end. Saying truth to power, especially when you (and yours) have suffered so much, is what this world needs more of. Calling it out as it is: fascism, corruption in the Justice Department, silencing, war on democracy, media meddling and muddling, as well as naming names... Mr. Cohen goes so far as to do his homework to lay out the facts and suggest a concrete path to a better future for the USA. There's just too much evidence not to believe Michael Cohen. He's been stripped of everything for his part in Trump-World and has nothing more to lose. My heart goes out to Michael Cohen, his wife, and children. All good things their way...

2nd time not a charm

Sounds like Michael wanted the narrator should sound like a gangster. Way too much time spent talking about how he was persecuted then saying he doesn’t expect us to feel sorry for him.

Fascinating, But Like Fingernails on a Chalkboard

Cohen's credibility must always be discussed. He gave up the benefit of doubt, when he did his first shady deal. Is this enlightenment or another spin? Let the listener decide.

While the content is intriguing, the delivery is outright painful. If you cannot do impersonations, do not attempt it. It was like listening to an uncle that thinks he can do impersonations butcher an otherwise interesting story.
