Story
I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out...and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late. But I reassure myself: The Winchesters don’t know who I really am. They don’t know what I’m capable of....

The story was engaging and kept me hooked. I finished this in about a day, which goes against my principle of really milking audiobooks i pay for because they are pretty $$$, so thats how you know the story was really good! narration was also fabulous and i thought gave a lot of life to the characters

Story
On a snowy winter evening in 1982, 21-year-old Mary Brown accepted a ride from a handsome stranger in the resort town of Breckenridge, Colorado. The trip ended with her brutally beaten and raped. Mary survived, but her predator's violence had only just begun. After 10 years in prison, Tom Luther was released a far more vicious criminal. Soon, from the Rockies to West Virginia, like Ted Bundy, Luther enticed a chain of women into his murderous trap.

Long, repetitive, tedious
Reviewed: 2021-10-12
Probably the most tedious book I have ever listened to. The author thought switching the names he addresses characters by every second page was a good choice? I disagree. Decide if you’re going with first name, last name, or nickname. After that, they aren’t interchangeable.
This could have been a podcast, not a 19 hour long book. I ended up eventually listening at 1.5x speed just to get through it quicker.
Two stars for the research that went into it.

Story
In late October 1846, the last wagon train of that year's westward migration stopped overnight before resuming its arduous climb over the Sierra Nevada Mountains, unaware that a fearsome storm was gathering force. After months of grueling travel, the 81 men, women and children would be trapped for a brutal winter with little food and only primitive shelter. The conclusion is known: by spring of the next year, the Donner Party was synonymous with the most harrowing extremes of human survival.

In April 1992 a young man from a well-to-do family hitchhiked to Alaska and walked alone into the wilderness north of Mt. McKinley. His name was Christopher Johnson McCandless. Story
One of the inspirations for the major motion picture Everest, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Keira Knightley. This is the true story of a 24-hour period on Everest when members of three separate expeditions were caught in a storm and faced a battle against hurricane-force winds, exposure, and the effects of altitude, which ended the worst single-season death toll in the peak's history.

Probably one of the best performances and stories in my audiobook experience. Jon did an amazing job of capturing those weeks on Everest to make the reader/listener feel like they were there and Philip’s low, even voice captured the tone of writings.
The tale is sad and the cognitive dissonance of people regarding Everest since it’s publication is even sadder but you need to add this book to your list if you haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing it yet. 10/10 would recommend.

Story
Anna Fox lives alone - a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times...and spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn't, her world begins to crumble. And its shocking secrets are laid bare.

Predictable
Reviewed: 2019-10-30
I have never listened to such a predictable book in my life. I guessed pretty much every “twist” miles ahead and the main character is insufferable. I finished this book only to see if there was going to be some dramatic ending (there wasn’t IMO) and I’ll be returning it back to audible for something I’d actually consider listening to more than once. Would highly NOT recommend.
