Fantastical and Swoonworthy

I love the Witch Walker series, especially the lore and magick system, so decided to give the audiobooks a listen. While I enjoy the narration and performance, I have a really hard time with the male character voices - they all kind of bleed into the same snobby British accent. Despite this, Alexus is still a total heartthrob with so many layers to his backstory. It should also be noted that Raina is mute so uses a form of sign language to speak, which I thought they portrayed quite well in an audiobook.

Excellent narration and performance! The dialogue and banter between the main characters is fun and flows well. Action packed with an unexpected ending. Very detailed and graphic in a couple scenes, iykwim

New to audiobooks so not sure if I’m just used to my own voice in my head, but I had a hard time with the narration and performance for Raeve—which is most of the book. Made it hard to empathize with her. That could be her actual character or the narrators cadence/inflection. That being said, the other character narration she did were good imo. It would have been nice if they had combined the male/female narrator voices like they do with the Other. A lot of beautiful world building and a satisfying end to a slow burn. I would definitely recommend reading the accompanying PDF for the glossary but DO NOT READ THE FAMILY TREE UNLESS YOU WANT SPOILIES. I will definitely read the second book instead of listening.
