Manages to miss some key conclusions of the book, and its format is to summarize a chapter, then summarize their summary. Effectively saying the same thing twice. Actual non repeated content is about 35 min.

The story was ok with interesting characters that I grew attached to. I did finish it but won’t get the next one - my complaint is there was so much angst and self doubt in two main characters (pages and pages and PAGES!) - and the reader milks it for everything she could get. It just became really annoying!

Well read, well written - as is the usual for Neal Asher. A good starting place for his books, although his timeline extends in both directions in other books

Enjoyed the beautiful sad story, and the technical details of medicine at the time. Social commentary of the times was sobering.

Another great “what if?” World from Scalzi. Good plot. Reader gave it a dragnet kind of feel

Really good, and besides a good story, fleshes out some of the details of the society his books are based in

A great book and well read, but the overall message isn’t nice, and a few parts I found a bit disturbing. If you are already feeling bummed, skip it

What happened to the original audiobook version read by Douglas Adams? Someone please reply if they know where I can get it!! I can just not rap my head around a Zaphod with a Italian New Yorker accent! Marvins voice is awful too. Returning this unfinished!

Probably the weakest book by Scalzi I have experienced yet - though I returned Redshirts. Great concept but just a little too neat and unsatisfying. Makes me wonder if this was an old story he wrote and never published, but pulled it out when Covid hit.

Good enough if you are bored but try his other titles first.

Reader is decent.
