After seeing the movie back when it came out and seeing it a few times after I was happy to listen to the audiobook. It’s a great combo. Visually the movie was great and the surprise was amazing. Knowing the ending listening to the book really gave me a better understanding of the movie. The book is amazing.

Bought this audio book on a whim after listening to my friend talk about it. I thought it was dragging on but was shocked to see I was so far into the story I couldn't stop. The characters are over the top but keep you engaged. The language is colourful at times but its suppose to be the 1800s. I didn't watch the series when it was on in the 80s but might try to find it. Great story, great adventure and great sadness at times.
