I don't like slice of life, so take this review as you like.
I come for a story and it would have been good to find one here. It's not the case, it's multiple disjunct mini stories that don't advance the main story at all, if there's even a main story anymore.

Nothing happens, like seriously I could summarize this book in 2 lines.
The discussions in the book are just soooo long.
The only exciting part is when the spellmonger is on the page, and you don't even hear it from his perspective. And he's only in maybe 1 hour of this 10-hour book.
That's a credit back, and I'll wait for the real spellmonger book.

Story
After winning two wars against the Nemovorti, Minalan plans an expedition to The Lost Valley of Anghysbel, in the far north of his realm. It's there, in the caldera of a supervolcano at the edge of the tundra, he suspects many of the answers he so desperately needs might be hidden. The only problem is that thanks to the anti-magical properties of the jevolar, his spells won’t work; he’ll be without magic for the first time since he came into his Talent.

Story
The manhunt has officially begun. Now the target of a game-wide Holy War, Ned is forced to flee the Onyx Sands. The odds are stacked against him; Tyrann has tens of thousands of followers, a religion that’s spreading like wildfire, and a powerful god that will be stepping into the world of EBO in a matter of days. Meanwhile, Ned’s allies are a squirrel-exploding bard, a repurposed home security system who takes her instructions far too literally, and a wildly unreliable talking axe named Frank. But even as the inevitable conflict draws closer, change is coming to EBO.

well, why care though?
Reviewed: 2021-11-06
I really enjoy Litrpg when there's a real goal, where the danger is not artificial. I don't know why but I felt like in the first book you could care a little more about the character, why he needs to stay in the game, why he needs to survive. But I don't feel that here.
He's just playing a game. If he loses, well you lose and that's it, just move on to another game, even better create your own.
But here the story and the villain are just convoluted, they feel fake.
I always enjoy Travis's book, but that one was hard, the content is way too inconsistent.
Not for me anymore.

Story
Sacred Valley has been saved...at least, what’s left of it. With his home finally secure, Lindon delves deep into the ancient labyrinth, seeking long-lost Soulsmithing knowledge and the secret to destroying the Dreadgods. Monarchs plot against him and against each other, unaware of the threats gathering in realms beyond. Far above Lindon and the Monarchs and the Dreadgods, another war is waged. Suriel and the Abidan clash against the Mad King and his forces in a battle for the fate of many worlds. And if it is lost, Cradle will be destroyed.

Well what to say.
The story is coherent, starting where it left. I always enjoy how Lindon is humble but he does not let himself be walked on easily.
Travis is perfect as usual.
I just don't how I'm gonna be able to wait for the next one.
I'm amazed that after 10 books, the story is still so good, soooo good.

That on brought me back to the serie
Reviewed: 2020-09-11
Book 3 was really underwhelming for me. I really felt like the story dragging into something weird, and I really couldn't understand where the author was going with the storyline.
Let's just say that reading this book made me fall in love once again with the series.
The book is not perfect, for example, way too much statistic, I can't wait when someone will just skip those and just explain what was gained from the experience. And sometimes, the storyline was still not consistent.
Nevertheless, it's a win for me.

I really enjoyed the first 2 books, and this one is just as good if not even better.
Those kids are really endearing, the story is consistent all along the way, and the end is just perfect.
Again a fantastic performance from Tim Gerard Reynolds, he's a way to interpret young kids that is always authentic.
A must-read, or listen.
